My old slightly out of date official DL calc says that if it were a 33 over game, Afghans would be chasing 171

I'm pretty sure they give weightage to the quality of batsmen. Saw that in a chart some time ago. Someone sits there and gives each batsman a weightage while working out revised scores. And they don't want everyone to know what weightage they are giving to individual players.

I doubt they just give weightage to the batting position. That won't work since we have teams where tail starts at 8 and teams without a tail like England(Remember Rashid has a first class century Grin)

Jarrod Kimber from the press box: The adjusted target will be 14/15 less, according to ICC scorer

1 hand gesture from an umpire can win or lose a fortune.

I can understand it if you are weighting for batsman 1, batsman 8, batsman 11 etc

its not that complicated DT! its done by wickets and overs remaining - "resources"

like a % table through batsmen 1 to 11

Yes that is correct. Each batting position has a weightage, that much is clear.
But I was just speculating on why they don't give out the formula.

Not sure why cricketers these days can't just work with singles. They've for 48 deliveries. 30-35 off that would be a great score from 8 down.
