Mitch Marsh in for Handscomb.

India have dropped both openers! Vihari and Agarawal will open with Rohit at 6. Yadav replaced by Jadeja.

Chaos!

kohli as great a batsman as he is is obviously not a good captain. you don't make that many changes after one defeat. your best players are your best players and let's be honest this is a far from great australian side. you need to back your players. chopping and changing all the time hardly ever works

They've left a lot of grass to force a result After reading various articles and quotes from the groundsman etc., the recent shied draw was down to him experimenting with a drier pitch, after getting it right with extra grass cover in the first 2 matches. The major variable here is the extreme heat, which could dry the pitch out very quickly. There won't be extreme heat today, but tomorrow will be in the mid 30's. I'm going with a lay of the draw. I think the pitch might start to flatten out and become easier for batting end of day 2 or mid-way through day 3. Aussies look the goods for the win here with the more rested fast bowlers and the better spinner. I also think the Aussie batting is starting to come together and has more all round depth. Good luck everyone!

I have a draw lay too. I have little chance of following ball by ball, especially if Mrs Gulab continues to watch stuff like Call The Midwife.

This takes precedence over the NZ test, at least for now.   Delighted with toss but India have to bat well.

yep they haven't really managed it all year away from home. either kohli or no one basically. far too many times they've been rolled over for around 200 or less

Glad Kohli binned the idea of opening, not liking that idea at all.

Hmm. Getting up to £9k red on draw pre game in the 5s hasn’t worked very well so far.

It’s offering a bit for pace, isn’t it? Some bounce on offer. I don’t think these two sides play out draws very often, although both do just about have enough batting that it’s possible.

STOP doing this to yourself you're a nice guy you don't deserve to sabotage your own bank roll

Perils of betting before you see any cricket if it’s as flat as you say but still don’t see these sides playing out many draws even after 1 from 25 balls from Vihari. I may be needing an Aussie collapse though. It’s not looking like the Indians will fall apart right now, certainly not to Lyon, who’s getting the amount you’d expect him to before lunch day 1.

It’s only about 6 or 7%. Will be a bit irritating though, partly because I’m just about to pay nearly £3k in PC and it’s very frustrating when you do that then lose a very decent slice of your roll straight after.

Yep should have waited to see the pitch. I've gone 1k red all over. I think it will start to quicken up and seam around tomorrow.

Draw was already down the 3s by the time I tuned in properly and can’t see that it’s ever value to back at that price so early in a game.  Appreciate that none of the others have been played here but the draw is happening about 10% of the time in tests this year. The Indian batting has Pujara and Kohli and this innings a solid start from the openers so far but Australia just brought a bowling all rounder in for a batsman, albeit one who was performing poorly, so I wouldn’t be too worried that they’ll score massively first innings, at least not yet.

In Cummings we trust.

Anyway, no trading to be done for me now, with the only decision to be made for now over whether I put one last lay in around 3s. Suppose I should give some thought to my approach if there’s a wicket or two. Imagine I’ll back above 4s for a tiny bit and otherwise try to wait for 6s, which could be a long way off.

Layed India at an average of 2.3. Either way seems like a free bet here for now.

Robbed by the umpire there. Admittedly you’re guessing giving an lbw when a batsman has danced more than 3m down from the stumps but stayed out if he’d given it. I think the draw is far too short, actually. I’m laying it again. You can all call me a moron later. Or now, if you like, to be fair.

Early win with the 3.1 lay: traded half of it back out at 3.15! Pro move.

Bad batting lineups will have playing out a draw on the roadiest of rodes.

Typos just pour out of me, I know you don't spell road like that.  Blush
