Anyone got a Scooby why Eng shortened by a tick or so at the close? Logic would suggest the opposite ought to happen, surely?

I know Jucel once got caught out piling in thinking the last all had been bowled so it always surprises me when the bowling team doesn't drift or the draw doesn't come in the very moment stumps is called, as you'd think there would be a weight of money on a hair-trigger, cautious of a last-ball wicket.

would be interested to know the highest 4th innings total made by England to win a test match. Tried looking on cric info site but couldn't find details other than it would seem to be under 350.

England will not be chasing this down! Cloudy tomorrow and still only the third day. India would be advised to ground and pound. Particularly make Anderson work.
I have been waiting all summer did this! I still maintain I did got the worst of the weather in the previous two Tests and thus affected the result. The poor Indian batting masked the all too familiar English frailties. I the the weather gas been even find thus match but the zip in the pitch slower giving Indian batsmen more time to play the ball under their noses. That has made a huge difference. The Indian bowlers are 4-5 kms faster and thus has helped them. This game is over. I cannot believe my luck. I have cleared red, even got a four figure England green with the bigger green on India. I shall let it ride and not contrive to lose money! People see different things I did not think India had become awful overnight. I could not understand how badly they batted though but always maintained the Englush bowlers would look ordinary when it stopped swinging but I guess it has not stopped swinging! Two good batting pitches to come and maybe some spin for them. I fancy India to be all square by the end of the series. England need two openers, Bstard to give up the gloves or drop down lower, a fast bowler and two spinners! I love the fact that batsmen gave to work for runs, even just to survive. That is why if was called Test Cricket. |

Different pitches, climate and ball. Apples and oranges you just cannot compare the two
|
|
By:
Like i said earlier, this England batting line up do not have the application to chase down a massive score or bat long periods to save a match. this is as close to free money as you will ever get.
|
|
By:
don't think anderson will be bowling much beyond his 1st spell tomorrow. once it's clear we won't be bowling india out sub 200 others will do the donkey work waiting for the declaration
still a long way back for india in this series. hard to see them not being shot out for at least 1 more low score in the 4 innings after this game. beyond kohli the others have failed time and time again here and in south africa. usually england recover from a thrashing to win the next game in home series |

I've been away this weekend, had a small bet on India yesterday and then layed India when put into bat in the last session today. Currently £3.59 red India, £35 green Eng & draw
![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() India should be around 1.02 and not the 1.10 that's on offer now, fill your boots boys. |

detraveller....many thanks

With three days left can't see why India would even consider a declaration.Hopefully they'll buckle down and try to score another 150 or so runs by tea and then let loose and eventually set England 470/500 to win.
|
|
By:
And give England 2 days and 1 session to get them
|
|
By:
No declaration while Kohli is batting he will have one eye on Lara's highest test score if he gets going only another 392 needed

Great opportunity for them all to gain confidence and boost their averages abroad. Let England toil in the field. Then give them an hour at the end of the day.
