At some point Lanka will score 8+ off an over  and it makes up for a string of quiet overs.  When total falls below 300 and ticks away slowly there will be renewed support.

Of course middle stump could be splattered any time then scrub everything.

This is a quite extraordinary draw slide going on. Can't say I am displeased but watching it sink like a stone. Wish I was more patient!

TOMORROW: Mostly cloudy with occasional showers in broad areas, heavy and thundery at times in a few areas and accompanied by gusty winds.

I was genuinely concerned about the prospect of a Windies win so took some cover by laying SL at 20 and 25Blush!

I think it was the right thing to do...just at the wrong time!

So what does the draw do from here assuming no wicket and slowish scoring? Do we see sub 3s? Depends on weather, of course.

Answer is drop like a stone. I’m doing well now. Jucel, what have you pulled out of this?

I would love the runs needed to fall below 300 at stumps, we need loose stuff.

If it doesn’t rain, the draw is far too short: batting fairly normally gets SL close from here needing 340 in 106 overs. They’d need to lose wickets to slow them down in which case, at the worst there should be trading opportunities. Very different if they lose 10 overs though, let alone 15 or more.

draw lay risky imo. windies could use neg tactics, it might rain.

SL could also shut shop but before they do that, you might beable to cash out.

Yeah, very odd thinking (or more likely profound lack of thinking) behind it. If they were going to pull the plug so early they should have been swinging more and earlier looking for 470 at about the same time. Bishoo and Roach both had SRs of 35 for 27 runs between them off 86 balls. That’s just bizarre cricket.  If all you’d wanted was 450 ahead there was hardly anything to be lost hitting harder and hoping for more once Holder was out. Worst case you get 440 or so a bit sooner but every chance of 475 or so about the same time. I’ve been saying for years how strange it is that’s T20 cricket isn’t played at least for a few overs before a declaration. Geraint Jones taking Glenn McGrath for loads at Old Trafford in 2005 had the right idea.

I’m making £3k or so, which is a fair bit but yet another game which leaves me thinking I should stake more on tests. I’ve been footling about with £250 lumps for most of this game. To be fair though, it’s been because I keep expecting the steamroller.

New ball close to before or after lunch. Fancy Gabriel to bounce a couple. Will be patient and not clear SL red. Still to big an ask for me but huge trading opportunities here I think.
