I've blown away 400 green today. But I was 180 red yesterday so not complaining. But but but...

This Roshan guy has scored a hundred and 3 fifties in 6 innings.
Roshen Silva as a batsman is all about girt and determination |

I've just woke up, looks like a missed a bit of drama.
Still sitting very pretty but can't see another obvious entry point at this time. SL are a batsman short and Dickwella/Perera don't hang about. Pretty long tail too with Herath at 8. How did the pitch play? Poor batting or did the ball do plenty?? One thing to point out is the difference between playing in May and June https://www.climatestotravel.com/climate/trinidad-and-tobago May 100 mm rain & June 250 mm May 11 ran days & June 17 Could still be weather interruptions & that's why I'm not going heavy on a draw lay |

"How did the pitch play? Poor batting or did the ball do plenty??"
Some very good aggressive bowling and Lanka not mentally ready after toiling in the field. |

Wow!
Was hoping SL would make a better fist of this. I think the Matthews wicket has cost them any remote chance of winning the match and us of a killing! Only 2 results available now. The question is will Sl get close to 300 or get skittled. They still have a couple of good batsmen, Chandimal the key. If he gets a 100 the draw is back on if not SL are looking down the barrel. FWIW my view is as the ball gets soft SL will make 300 as long as they don't get wasted in the first 45 mins. I was sitting pretty but really want to make a draw play. I am 4 figures green on the draw with a relatively small red on WI and slightly larger green SL. I think the next day and a half is a sit it out and don't blink situation. Don't waste remaining stake on marginal ticks. Wait be patient and smash the draw when it is available. Weather forecasts are a waste of time. There may well be a lot of rain on Sunday and drizzle on Saturday. No play lost tomorrow. There may be no rain at all and there may be a situation where we stay up all Saturday night looking at web cams! I don't want to expose myself to a Windies win. I want good odds on the draw and that may happen tomorrow but is more likely on Saturday. I am off till Monday but unfortunately have a barbecue / Party with the rich, famous and guilty tomorrow evening! May have a problem with Mrs 'Death and me looking at my phone! We have what we need for a big win in this match. Uncertainty that the bookmakers know what they are doing and big odds. We are in the rainy season, anything can happen except perhaps a SL win, which, is a shame as that would have been interesting too. We are looking for discrepancy in the odds between WI and a Draw. There is a situation where there are only two days play left, almost only. SL need to lose 17 wickets in that time or 10 wickets in maybe half of day 4. That fills me with optimism and I want to take a gamble that the obvious will not happen. The obvious is WI win well. What has to happen for WI not to win. Well rain obviously but SL have to bat well. They have not done too well so far! They are a proud nation and I expect them to step up even the tailenders. WI scored over 400 WTBF? The pitch is not bad. Well grassed a good batting wicket but with plenty of bounce so far. Will that bounce continue, will it take spin later as it was generally regarded as dry. I am hoping the grass will keep the pitch together. If it does the draw should be the favourite and it is not. Gentlemen we have an opportunity! I am not saying WI will not win but I am saying they might not and that could well be a gamble worth taking. |

Looks like the odd shower for the next few days and then then the chance of heavy and more frequent on Sunday. If I'd been bolder I could have been close to wiping out 2 extremely unpleasant months in one fell swoop. I have to be careful though betting in WI as it's night time (for me) and falling asleep with massive exposures is fraught with danger! |

juce they lost a wicket in the last over.

I am red on windies, a litle more than i'd like to be. I'm gonna reduce that red to half and hope for windies to be bad(they are due).
See you guys in the evening. |

lanka have plenty of time to get out of this...its not the windies of old.

Lanka's batting very thin.........at 3 down we can already say not much left.

Draw coming in a tad, that is great.

After striking a lay of SL yesterday morning at 2.4 (just seemed way too short with 260 runs on the board and the beginnings of a good 7th wicket stand), I have now greened up at £230 all round - I just think that it'll pay to have money in all columns in the event of a partnership/ westher around. Can forsee the DP coming in at some point; and even if wickets do fall that may present a great opp to buy some draw at high prices - because if SL are made to follow on then WI bowlers will be tiring, and if the f/o isn't enforced then the market will become jittery about time left in the game as WI try to set an unassailable target...

More than a tad now, wonder if showers are in the offing!

By:
certainly looks that way - 4.5 to 3.9 in an hour or two..., with rapid acceleration downwards in last 15 mins...

Its petered out now and retraced but did some good that.

I don't think WI would enforce a follow on.
Looks like two full days play at the moment and possibilities of rain on Sunday. That rain might not materialise but would be nice if it came a day early! Because of the vagaries of will it won't it rain I would not want to be too red on WI. I will only if there is a decent chance of SL saving this match. For now I guess I am just keeping my powder dry. I have almost 10 times draw green as WI red and more SL green than WI red for now. I am hoping the pitch plays well today. If they lose an early wicket we could be trouble but if they don't then these two batsmen are the most likely to get SL to a respectable score. Big day today and probably better not to watch if you have an exceptionally cunning plan to execute. Fortune favours the brave Rodney! Good luck to any speculative punter! |

By:
Got my lay at 3.8 grazed rather than snapped up but the one at 4.2 went so somewhat better placed than I was. Can’t call what’s going to happen today but am fairly even green so content enough to lay draw if it goes low and back if it goes high.

Pitch Report: "It's a wearing pitch. There are areas with green grass and some which are bare - hence behaves differently. There are cracks too. It's going to be testing times for Sri Lanka," examines Russel Arnold.

They said that they think WI would bat again too instead of enforcing the follow on

Windies pitches don't go like Asian pitches go
BTW its bizarre Karunaratne is not selected, he is one of their better bats. |
