A second day night test in the desert.  Last time they played with a pink ball in the UAE there was a fair bit of expectation that itl would do something in the evening sessions and failed to - if anything the conditions made it do less as reverse swing didn't eventuate.  The record at the ground is of 2 draws in 10 tests but several others would have seen the draw trade rather short.  I think around 5 is a decent back to lay price and have taken some 4.9 and some 5.3.

Looking Forward to this, been awful without any cricket, even been doing a bit of greyhound trading to fill the gap and I was profitable. Excited

Pakistan need to win this and I think they will. Could trade higher than the current 1.8 so have had only a small back so far.
I will also be looking to trade the draw but not prepared to start with a back as it can become a scary game of pass the parcel. I will start laying should it sink to around evens.

Hit the post button too early.

I've posted in the past on what I think makes the ball swing, and IMO it's formation of tiny water droplets in the air under certain conditions, including falling temps after dusk. The Dubai forecast has temps hardly moving after dusk and humidity will be low, although rising into the evening. So I am not surprised at the lack of swing.

I was just thinking that your post looked very familiar, pxb.

Got the start time for this wrong so didn’t top up draw in the 6s, but did just get some 4.9, which seemed v high with score 32/0.

Got the 4.9 off at 4.1 May not turn out this way but feels like another test with big first innings scores and a draw price under 2 to lay heavily. I’m not getting shot of any more draw green above 3.6 and may then wait for mid 2s. Will top up on wickets probably.

Runs were flowing for Lanka in that morning session, what I saw Lanka were riding their luck, finding boundaries with loose shots.   I layed Pak at an average of 2.13...reasonably happy!

Having done well with my draw trading I foolishly laid Pak at 2.7 shortly before the two wickets, although with SL 130/1 at the time it felt like rather good value. Also bought up more draw so pretty exposed now.

Hmm, posts being eaten again.

Accidentally laid Pak just before the two wickets. The draw was finally reacting to this partnership after I bought a load more up then went up from 4.2 to 5 in no time and doesn’t want to come back down.

Look at the volume matched on day 1, really positive to see cricket doing so well while other areas are struggling.

Got stung massively on the draw in the last game. Been holding the draw at 4.8 since this morning. I’m thinking about staying on it, but I always fall in love with the draw in the Middle East! What do you think?

Draw may go odds on or close to that but my guess is this will not be a draw!

Pakistan in a heap of trouble, operating with a 3 man attack now Amir has gone off, Yasir is gonna be shattered tomorrow.

Agree with CS above. I expect the draw to be odds on at some stage but a result may well still emerge. Surprised Pak as low as 3.5 now. I appreciate still possible to get SL out for under 400 even and plenty of time to pile runs on themselves but this is still an ugly position.

Laid Pak, as I agree they do look short with lanka looking to bat well past lunch.

I can't blame him for not reviewing, look our for all the world.   Still loads of Pak market love despite them looking in bad shape to win.

Pakistan don't have enough time to win from here the way they play!   All that time in the field with not muach bowling options will have exhausted them mentally and physically, it's possible they will bat poorly because of that and that would be bad for the draw.

Plan A for me has failed, time now for Plan B which is laying the draw below evens.

OK, the draw is odds on for a reason but I've seen this sort of position turn around many times.
Doesn't always happen but an acceptable risk for me.

Pak are very short considering their only real chance of a win is to bat really big and have SL bat their 2nd innings on day 5. Laid Pak yesterday and tempted to lay some more.
By:
Fatslogger
When: 07 Oct 17 22:33
I rather foolishly bought back my Pak lays (which were 2.6 and 2.7) at 3.25 and 4. Therefore would feel wrong to lay here but does ask an awful lot of them to win from here. It feels like a result will emerge to confound the very short draw price though.

A lot depends on how the pitch deteriorates, but chances are Pak bats reasonably well for a while tomorrow and draw goes quite a bit shorter.
