You heard it here first!

Pantyman to the rescue for me!

After yesterdays debacle and Jason Roy again we see examples of why your best ans hardest hitting batsmen should be nearer the top of the order. Iyer and Nair have not helped and why has Angelo come in ahead of Morris and Cummin?

Overs
158.5
167.5
173.5

Interesting, thanks.  So essentially you can lose 2 wickets totally for free and the utility of having more than 4 in hand is still pretty low.  Does depend on your guys but think not having Morris in with a few overs left with his SR of over 170 (and apparently about 230 this IPL) must be bad cricket, unless your other guys are murdering the bowling. This tapping singles around feels wrong, doesn't it? Fine, get singles when the big shots don't come off for you but you must play the big shots.

Mathews can hit the thing so think you bat him ahead of Cummins for sure but definitely not Morris.

Yep, teams need to be going earlier when they have wickets in hand, all this "leave yourself wickets in hand for the last 5 overs" is completely outdated.

Market obviously rates DD's attack (and perhaps not KKR's batting) as this isn't looking like that imposing a total, is it and yet DD still warmly favoured?

As I also rate DD's attack I'm sticking with it but could go wrong.

Got a feeling this is a new ball pitch, easy to bat on when ball is new and gets harder as ball gets older

It's obviously fine to have wickets in hand at the end and you certainly don't want to be bowled out or anything but hit hard and hit often seems to be the way to play it to me.  England's batting approach to limited overs batting seems pretty good to me.  We'd have one hell of a side if our bowling were any good. A fair bit of the wickets in hand thing will just be the higher chance of having set batsmen in at the death.

Having said that, DD has finished this without many wickets in hand and not scored many runs!

Lucky 4 but I don't think that's where you bowl at Morris.

Should have cashed out after that Pants over, although obviously easy to say now.  Oh, no, you shouldn't have, easy win.

Going to go for an Ayt prediction here.
Think KKR will get off to a good start and trade low and then lose (or at least have a bit of a collapse) !

I'm quite tempted to reverse my position, at least for the start of KKR innings.

Although DD's bowling is pretty strong throughout and there is some action for quick bowling, at least some good bounce so wouldn't be surprised by an early wicket or two and DD just keeping control throughout.  It's not a big enough target to defend trivially without exerting a vice like grip though.

agree i think DD have had control just about entire innings and think steady wickets KKR inns so im edging DD but it is a lower than needed total

But if Narine opens and gets out quickly that may be a bad move.

perfectly acceptable walk the dog price on the double ds, but it's easy in the Powerplay, and the Hasslehoffs could go very short in the first 10, especially with narine closing his eyes and swinging at everything.
