Thanks for the pics!
Looks dead to me. Slow and low. No grass in the middle so no seam and v little spin. It's not bone dry otherwise the grass we see wouldn't be that colour. So I guess it won't crumble.. Having said that, why should these fragile sides battle out a draw? Batsmen find ways of getting out and I presume this will be no exception. |

I dont know what to make of the forecast and i dont know what to make of the pitch, i might well get out of my draw lay although i still think it is too short

Interesting that the WI twitter feed have posted three pics from the ground today and theres not one cover in sight.

Draw looking short around 2.9 with just showers forecast.
By:
Looking ridiculously short now. I've layed it again.

I'm sticking with the draw back for now.
The pitch has been relaid so could well need time to bed in, therefore slow. Pitches need a lot of sun & rolling to get them fast again. Not much grass either. Last year the one v India was really green and WI were out in 50 overs. After that it flattened out into a slow pudding. Plus morning/afternoon showers on at least the first 3 days (http://www.metservice.gov.jm/forecast.asp) Questions for me regarding the outfield too. Test umps are much more fussy than locals |

Thanks Juice.

If you can't trust a commie radar, what can you trust?

Sticking with my prior beliefs that forecasts overstate the amount of rain in the Caribbean and that WI can't bat so also sticking with my draw lay but could have done a lot better by getting the lay in now rather than at an average just over 3.
By:
I agree FS about the seemingly overstated rain, but as I don't know the pitch or local weather conditions and match might be affected by bad light, I'm waiting for end of Day 1. Does anyone know whether bad light will be a factor?

Just switched to the draw on the new yr.no forecast. Heavy rain forecast Fri night and rain during the day Fri and Sat.

ive reversed my draw lay to a draw back, obviously i now have a terrible price

In the vicinity of that Cuban radar, I discovered one of the few benefits of communism. You can feck up government property and no one gives a damn. The property being an East German POS 4WD.

Managed to get rid of my draw at 2.6. Can't see it going that much lower for a while and I'm going to have a few hours kip before an all nighter!
Decent green to start the game with. |

By:
Hmm, now in a dodgy position but think I'll let it ride. I'm certainly not backing draw at 2.6 even with an unknown track and an iffy forecast. WI more than capable of batting the draw out to 5s or 6s in a session.
Good to see you back jucel, by the way, especially with a decent green. |
By:
Oddly both draw and WI came in. Is a Pakistan bowled out or something? Can't find any info.
By:
Getting info on anything for this test match has been difficult. Ive levelled up now for a smallish red, like Jucel says i dont want to be to over exposed with so many question marks over the forecasts and the pitch.
By:
The predicted volumes are tiny, tenths of millimetres. More danger of losing time through poor light perhaps? I'm still sitting on my draw lay and may top up if it goes lower during the day especially if the draw goes odds on.
By:
Tried to get another lay in at 2.6 as didn't think I was red enough at just under 4K but I missed. Draw's out at 2.8-2.9 now.

No idea what goes on and not watching game but laid at 1.39. Expect odds to shift upwards at some time.
By:
Hi Charlie.
The odds will adjust if we have rain and the draw is discounting a lot of time lost given the match position. Pakistan will probably only need to bat once. |
By:
Just saying hi Foinavon and hope you're well.

What are you on in the T20?

Thanks, Charlie, I'm fine.
