WD the shrewdies..reckon the bookies have caught a cold on this one
but of course not pneumonia as would've restricted bets esp if they were coming in in droves

Bookies won't let the same dog bite them twice on the same day....they won't hold the draw up when its 1.03 on here! :-(

Good skills. I thought it was too likely just to train down to try anything like that. I did attempt to get some 1.55s after the market took a dive to the 1.4s but failed.

Huge amounts matched on NZ down to 1.3, whoever knew about the rain would be in huge clover now.

I shudder to think i was contemplating backing NZ at 1.4 yesterday. Only 0.3mm rain was forecast at that point and now its 51mm

Why do tests in NZ don't have something like discussions between commentators..at least an hour or so should be ok before replaying old tests..

Thank god I was sleeping and only checked in afternoon today to see the forecast and draw at around 2.45...which is where I latched a bit and then took the bigger jump on 1.75

dt, I bet according to the forecast, and was lucky not take a hammering and walk away from this day 4. Going all green pre-play saved me.

I was strugglig till yesterday in that the best i got was break even on all results. Only the massive back at 2.0 as i came back from university today is what has doubled my bank.

Juce called it last night.

Yes tyco I am slowly getting to that point where i dont back odds like that but its still a work in progress. I have showed a lot of patience on this game and prety happy. At least on two occasions i havent panicked and let my bets stand(by believing in them) :)

I know you have been saying that for years, tyco.

I lay long odds all the time, which is the same thing. I rarely come unstuck.

I hope you made decent money.

You really can't get so wrong with forecasts...I understand all the mini climates you mention but this is near pathetic..forecasts changing by minutes..

I do ok thanks, I know where you are coming from too, you are probably looking at value. I just do not have the temperament to hold on and accept and either green or red out at inappropriate times. But I did back the draw at 1.16 this morning when I saw the ground and conditions and when I heard it had started raining again..... that to me is value and I thought it would move the market to a point where I could get out. Other than that I do back short odds by laying the draw pre game for all tests.... have an automatic system going and double money (actually over double now) since 2103. But that involves psychology as well. Interesting if people have time to delve into how the mind works.

To be fair, that looked like massive value at the time. I couldn't believe where the market was when I woke up to see 5 down and still 10 overs left.

I've just felt obliged to put another grand on at 1.1. Free money is often an illusion but this is pretty close. You'd need bright sun, wind and thirty degree heat to dry that outfield out. They've still got to get the huge puddles off the covers too, which will slop more rain on to it.

But that involves psychology

I make the odd post on the psychology of markets on the General Betting forum. Surprising how few people even consider it. jucel is switched on to it though. Good man, jucel.
