Match today in the emirates cup, one of the PTV production crew announced on twitter the match was abandoned 5 mins before the official announcement

Tyco I think if you wanted to be at the ground making money on rain plays then today would have been the day to do it

I think I'm trying to say, and not sure, that the draw shortening now has pushed out the other two results to a noticeable change and that's where the money is to be made, not farting about with a 0.2 change on the draw. Then again it's been a long day.

I know tomtimtum... my schedule does not allow for that... but today would be the day, but I think Monday can be just as profitable.

Charlie if one price drifts 20% then another price (or prices) have to shorten 20% to make the book
In this instance, if SA drifted 20% and NZ drifted 10% then draw must have shortened 30%
Do the math and you'll see that you make more on that 30% shortening than the 20% drift

Charlie.. a move from 1.60 to 1.50 is the same roughly as a move from 5.00 to 6.20
By:
tomtimtum
When: 24 Mar 17 22:06
If the book was 2 way, the moves would balance each other out.
The fact we have NZ here (who are drifting too) means its more profitable to be backing the draw in this instance

I can confirm after watching this market intensly for the last 5 days that everytime the draw has moved the other two results have moved at exactly the same time

Returns would almost be the same..just more riskier..with current forecast always risky to be on the wrong side of draw...

Yes Tom. But if you start with two teams at evens one goes to 1/2 and the other to 2/1 then obviously the first has gone down half-a-point and the other up a full-point.

Not trying to be obtuse but it's the way I look at betting. I understand that 1.6 to 1.5 is the same as 5 to 6.2 but £100 on each isn't.

Agreed Chaz..point is you don't risk the same amount...unless you really risk the same amounts your maths works and so does your betting,...at high odds though you would want to put 100 pounds but u really wouldn't..so while this is a good argument..implementing it in practical terms a little difficult..Saying that if you are doing it...good on you...Point still remains the same...what is the safer assured bet...and if there is one..why not take it..

Steam, trying to answer your post honestly which is proving difficult because half the time I ain't got a clue what I'm doing or at least can't quantify it. In the past I've had trouble with tests because of the four (including weather) variables to be taken in to account (five really as sleep plays a big part). At this time of day for me it's too hard a question to answer I'll try tomorrow but then again nobody will be interested so may not.
