I've seen loads of batsmen bat on one leg and they are often more dangerous

In T20's maybe, not in a dead-rubber ODI on a tricky pitch where you'll be running more than hitting boundaries. Also doesn't retiring mean he come back out and hit at the end, or is that a different format.

Yeh he can come back out, but he will still have the same problem.
