Pak came close in the 1st Test, but Smith declared too early IMO. Should have batted another half hour at least.

The MCG a result venue, but the last 2 Tests here have been high scoring. I don't know why. Drop in pitches?

Amount of rain in the forecast has changed significantly. Now just a few showers. But remnants of 2 tropical cyclones will affect the region after Christmas and they are unpredictable.

I'll continue to trade the draw. Although I expect Aus to win easily.

The forecast is still showing showers all week but the market doesn't seem to think this is much of an issue.
I'm a little uneasy but have put half my normal stake on Australia. Will wait and see for the rest.

I wouldn't like to be on Pakistan when they are batting first at The G!

Interesting to see the odds should they survive till lunch in some shape

Sohail is a plus for Paks for me and should they post a total Shah might do better this game.

Danger of movement under cloud and a few showers not giving the draw any big boosts but I'm on the usual draw back to lay, with a top up at 6s just now. Hmm, thought I'd topped up for a grand but turns out was just £500. Oh well.

Was just about to say not much movement but then Hazelwood just got that one to swing and seam late. There's good pace and carry. I'm happy enough to be on the draw right now but it wouldn't surprise me to see Pakistan in all sorts of bother against the new ball.

I have draw lays around 4. After being too aggresive in recent Tests.

Loved the initial flat wicket ramping from the comms, allowing me to get a lot of my 4.2 lay off. It's not really gone since and I do have a K result red still looking for 4s, which is probably too greedy but I keep thinking it will go soon. Wouldn't actually be surprised to see it dash through 4 a lot quicker than it usually does after so much hanging about in the low to mid 4s as after a few early alarms, it now looks pretty flat.

Topped up for a K at 4.4. It's a risk but really, despite a near run out, this has to go soon. This is a flat deck, albeit that both sides have good enough pace bowling that I still don't expect a draw even with some rain due.

Taken a small specualtive position on Paks at 6's. Good pitch, dry pitch. Pak also have reverse merchants but have the joker in Shah and bowling last. I am not convinced by Jackson Bird at this level on a good batting pitch with a 4 man attack. I hope Paks go after George to give Smith something to think about.

They will get flogged, India look unbeatable at home, on any kind of deck

Can't see Aus standing up to them, no. I had higher hopes for England than the performances with the ball especially justified but if anything Aus looks worse placed to tour India than England.

Meanwhile here, five overs into this partnership and rain on the radar and still the draw price is higher than when the wicket fell. They've not even looke that shaky either, although that was a very good ball from Bird.

I know it goes quickly when it goes but that was lightning and it doesn't usually go a full point in one drop either. I'm not complaining mind.

They'll get runs if they stay there long enough, although I do agree that you like to see the underdog get runs backing the draw.

I'd like to see Aus nailed to the cross in India or at least to the side of the tandoor! It will be hotter and drier so they might get some help with reverse but I think India will prepare bunsens especially for them!

Have you been having lessons from DStyle or are you teaching English to supplement your gambling habit?

I dislike Clarke a lot and now also Smith. Both would have got their heads flushed down the toilet at my school!
