For T3 and the rest of you Children out there TISWAS was a children's TV programme that ran on Saturdays mornings from 1974-1982.
One of Tiswas’s strengths was that it appealed to adults, too. More than 60pc of the audience were over 18 and Tiswas appreciation societies were soon launched. We even embarked on a sell-out tour of universities, always finishing our shows with The Bucket of Water Song. I sometimes wondered what was it about the the sight of a bog breasted young woman throwing buckets of water over herself appealed to adults ( men ) at the time  !Tiswas was constantly in trouble with the IBA [Independent Broadcasting Authority]. Most kids’ TV shows were educational but we were throwing buckets of water and flans around https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=m8ibcPjoXs4 I loved it.
