@WD The ball changes direction and moves towards the bat, then cahnges direction again towards the pads.

this is what's so intriguing about test cricket
u get down to the 'tail' think ur over the line only to meet stubborn resistance from the so called 'rabbits' who these days are no mugs with the bat cricket definitely changed in terms of batting prowess due to the shortet formats of the game |

I don't agree with the last part there. Aus first innings was shameful. They treated tests like T20. And they started the chase the same way and lost 3 wkts quickly. If you think of it, they only had to survive about 90 overs. They could have started slowly and then used their T20 skills to try to win. Instead, they went into a losing position and are now blocking it out.
