Well recognised practice, yes. Had a patient years and years back when it was new whose sudden loss of consciousness was inexplicable until we thought of the hand gel. We also have a frequent flier here who always asks for his alcohol and gel and isn't allowed it in his room.
After this couple of tests I may knock back a bit of hand gel myself.

I got 7/1 on Monfils but once he missed his first couple of first serves you could see the choke coming. Although at 0-30 it was probably like 1.15 and not 1.02
