It's not an overly dry pitch. Durban was and broke up very quickly. This one's held together very well. That indicates moisture. It's just a belter. A one day pitch.Shame about the 10 dropped catches though...England a hundred light..
The comms said there was extra water sprinked at the end(because of the lack of water used 'during' preparation). This extra water has held the pitch together and stopped it from deteriorating. Thats what they say. SA pacers did a pretty good job getting the first 5 wickets. England was horrible.

what was the point of the England declaration in the 1st innings? They were 1-0 up in the series, scoring at a fast rate - and if they were going to win it didn't matter if they had spent 10-15 more overs.
Has Cook done a Freddy??

52 overs left? lose 2 with change of innings, means 50 left? Dont think theres enough time for SA to win
Is that lack of mathematics knowledge or lack of cricketing sense?

Well im a full time cricket trader, so I hope its neither!
Respect.
But i really dont understand how 50 overs remaining in the gme, Eng leading by 124 with 4 wkt in hand cannot be a SA victory.
Eng bat 20 more overs, and give SA 200 t chase in 30 overs, thats gettable.

Not saying it can't just saying I don't think it will be.
