Big wicket for England, as they desperatly needed that, just on tea time, if they can get another quick one after tea, then the game could change abit.
By:
probably two more. malik, khan and misbah are limpets. 260-4 would be a pretty good day for england.

sounds weird i know but i think the more wickets that Pakistan lose the more chance of a draw

Most leg spinners do. Bowlers like Kumble and Warne are as rare as hen's teeth, yet somehow Cook is afraid to bowl someone who is getting targetted and hit.If Hafeez wants to sweep against the turn, i say let him, he'll make a mistake eventually. Ali is no threat with his little darts, but Cook prefers him because he's keeping the rate down. But what does that mean? That they'll be on 600 by the close tomorrow instead of an hour before? Yes I know that, bowling out of the back of the hand is very difficult to do, so obviously the run rate rises, when he bowls, but I am hoping he can take wickets at this level. He nearly got one last over and this is the thing that favours Rashid, as well as the fact that he does turn the ball. sorry if it seems like i was being patronising and trying to educate you: i wasn't. it was more that i felt i like stating the glaringly obvious because i am constantly amazed that Cook is so reluctant to acknowledge it. |

No thats ok, Cook, is happy to bowl the boring bowlers, with boring field placings, however a wicket falls just as I write. I like Rashid, just for the fact, he is likely to take wickets, as I said, he bowled some rubbish at Headingly on the final day, but what he did do was take wickets, which is the most important thing to do, you don't win Tests, unless you take 20 wickets and seam bowling isn't going to do that, in the UAE.

Ramiz Raja talking about 3 men in the ring. Gives me terrible deja vu about a Michael Barrymore pool party I attended.
By:
Ummm. Say what? How does he overturn that?
By:
can't complain but that's a miserable decision assuming sky have the same audio as the 3rd umpire.
By:
noise could only have been bat but what's the point of having reviews if there's no snicko or hot spot ?
By:
another in a long line of unbelievable 3rd umpire decisions.
By:
my gut feeling is that if india weren't such almighty dicks about DRS and every country agreed to use it, the ICC could make the necessary and fair arrangements so that every test had the gamut of review equipment and it was paid for by the ICC.

pure guesswork without the technology

Cook gone off to see if he takes the new ball or not. Puppet...

slowest pitch I've ever seen. All points to a draw imo

By:
Draw big at 2.64 IMO.
Possibly assuming Bell's batting will be as good as his catching. |

We shall find out tomorrow. Could be fun.

hard to have to much confidence in england posting a decent 1st inns score after best part of 2 days roasting in the heat however batsman friendly the conditions
can hardly remember them making any sort of score over 300 against proper opposition in the 1st inns of an away series in the last 5 years |

By:
Moen opening should make tomorrow interesting. On a flat deck it might not be such a terrible idea. Although chances are it will be.

Not sure what to make of this, After the 6/7 week break from tests I thought I would take it easy on the first few tests trading between 200 and 500 just to get into the swing of things? First bet was a lay of Eng for 500 at 3.4, how silly was i ????????
All green is now on Pakistan as this should be the train to 1.01svile |
By:
Pakistan look massive at 1.9 and this looks like being a non trading event.
By:
Agree whizz kid, I just can't see England batting well enough to save the game. Bairstow, Stokes and Buttler look weak in the middle and not convinced about Ali up front. Cook & Root v Pak doesn't bode well
By:
Pak content to see off the new ball here.
By:
Draw has shortened a bit but still looks too big to me.
What price the draw if Eng 70/1 at stumps? |
By:
What a crazy place to play cricket though. 38 degrees and no spectators.
By:
just over £3m traded so far on match odds which is a little worrying, especially for an England test match
![]() ![]() |
By:
whats the norm?
By:
would be on average 4/5 million a day !!!, having said that the ashes this year did not see a test top 20m traded

Should really look to declare soon, but can see they will likely wait for the milestones. 200 for Malik and 100 for Shafiq. Clearly not upping the tempo looking for a dec at the moment,
By:
By:
unlikely IMO, think 550 plus or bat all day, no point in declaring when pitch not doing a great deal, i laid draw yesterday, now dumped it

Can't win if you bat til the end. Got to get them in before you can get them out...
By:
Pakistan play not to lose, any win is a bonus !!!
By:
For England to take a 1st innings lead, already puts us deep into day 4 at this score....
By:
Pak will declare and give Eng maybe 12 overs at the end of the day.
By:
By:
if i was Pakistan id wanna declare... try and bowl them out then bat again for 50 overs or so
By:
keep England out in the heat as long as possible, just give them no chance !!!
