Sunday is the day to watch. Met Office has the heavy rain going thru early. But 1 model has it going thru later in the day.

Not sure Tues looks too pretty either.

Tuesday looks pretty grim, but if little rain before then, under cloudy skies could be over by then.

I'm laying the draw again. It worked well last time despite a few anxious moments. There may be some time lost but don't think there will be enough to matter.These teams are evenly matched so don't want to try and guess which will prevail.

It appears the market has cottoned onto Fridays ???

The heavy rain is forecast to pass to the south of Leeds. Could change, but we'll see how the radar looks tomorrow. Doubtless the market will overact as it always does.

One model suggests a pretty ugly tomorrow and it's probably the one the market is currently reacting to. That's not to say it will be right of course, but as it tends to be the driver rather than a passenger the plunge in the D prices shouldn't be any major surprise.

The UK met Office, but the others I follow are in general agreement. Nothing more than a couple of showers on Friday during match time.

As I said I'm saying no more, once the R word is used I'm done, but perhaps someone else will be kind enough to enlighten you.

PXB thanks, I am in general agreement but as always there is a high degree of uncertainty with showery/heavy rain forecasts.

IMHO market over-reacts to rain, especially in England.

of course an on/off sort of day which might happen tomorrow will be heavily in favour of the bowling side and should speed the game along

Headingly drainage has been a problem in the past. I assume they have fixed it. Does anyone know? Google was no help.

Current forecasts have the first session a likely washout. With a few showers later. So drainage definitely an issue.

I agree that on and off with showers that may spice up the pitch and could well bring wickets.

Don't think they have spent anymore on it since 2009, when they spent 600k. Nothing in their future plans either

Interesting Test here. Hard for me to judge from Aust, but forecast doesn't look as diabolical as the BF move suggests.

Last 10 tests at Headingley 5 Wins for team batting 1st, 4 for team batting 2nd, 1 draw.

Conditions point to hard to bat first. Will see the coverage and work out an angle.

Headingley's wicket is notoriously jekyll and hyde depending on overhead conditions.

Main rain should be clear around 9/9.30am. Could start on time after all! Few showers about after that but hard to predict if they hit or not.

Meteo rain radar forecast, generally pretty reliable, shows rain well past 9:30.

You might be right, the projections are starting to fill in now over the north of england! Looked like it was moving across but now the 9am projections show the rain sitting over the middle of the country

The wind has slowed right down now & the band is taking ages to move. Still raining at 11am now on the projections!! I'm not posting anything else on this band of weather as the projections keep changing!!

I backed the draw at 3s so I'm pretty happy. Cashed out when I thought it was going to clear around 9/10am, but then when the projections changed again I jumped back on the draw!

its mid-summers day in 23 days time, they should really change the dates round, because here in England, our winters are from January to March, spring is April to June, summers are July to September and Autumns october to december, as when it is cold in England its generally January, February and if it ever gets hot, its in July and August, generally.

All those showers could miss the ground. Cashed out my position now as the odds could move pretty quickly in the next few hours. Going to sit back and look for another opportunity.

I always try to be objective, I comment about things as I see them, whether I'm up or down.

The forecast is for two low pressure systems sweeping in from the Atlantic, the timing of when they go through leeds is hard to predict, so will be changeable by the hour as the wind speeds change etc..........

we have lost one already, think we may lose another two / three !!!
