Looks like there will be some weather? Always a first for everything

My prediction is the forecast will change.

Sunday is the day to watch. Met Office has the heavy rain going thru early. But 1 model has it going thru later in the day.
By:
Not sure Tues looks too pretty either.
By:
Tuesday looks pretty grim, but if little rain before then, under cloudy skies could be over by then.
By:
Agreed, but far to many IF's not to keep the Draw onside this time...at least for now.
By:
Met office forecast now has rain later on Sunday.
Almost done laying off my pretty large draw green. I'll run with the rest of it. |
By:
Looks to be more than enough ??? over Friday atm, so not overly concerned about the other 4 days for now.
By:
Big differences between bookies prices and bf. I wonder who is right?
By:
I'm laying the draw again. It worked well last time despite a few anxious moments. There may be some time lost but don't think there will be enough to matter. These teams are evenly matched so don't want to try and guess which will prevail.
By:
It appears the market has cottoned onto Fridays ???
By:
The heavy rain is forecast to pass to the south of Leeds. Could change, but we'll see how the radar looks tomorrow. Doubtless the market will overact as it always does.
By:
You may want to look again pxb.
By:
What forecast has the heavy rain hitting Leeds?
By:
One model suggests a pretty ugly tomorrow and it's probably the one the market is currently reacting to. That's not to say it will be right of course, but as it tends to be the driver rather than a passenger the plunge in the D prices shouldn't be any major surprise.

Anonymous person citing unidentified model = Ramper.

By:
Think what you like pxb, good luck, I shall say no more.
By:
PXB, which model are you Citing ?
By:
The UK met Office, but the others I follow are in general agreement. Nothing more than a couple of showers on Friday during match time.
By:
As I said I'm saying no more, once the R word is used I'm done, but perhaps someone else will be kind enough to enlighten you.
By:
It's unfashionable to laugh at the unfortunate, but I must admit I did.
By:
PXB thanks, I am in general agreement but as always there is a high degree of uncertainty with showery/heavy rain forecasts.
IMHO market over-reacts to rain, especially in England. |
By:
of course an on/off sort of day which might happen tomorrow will be heavily in favour of the bowling side and should speed the game along
if there's 4 days play i'd be pretty confident of a result |

Headingly drainage has been a problem in the past. I assume they have fixed it. Does anyone know? Google was no help.
Current forecasts have the first session a likely washout. With a few showers later. So drainage definitely an issue. I agree that on and off with showers that may spice up the pitch and could well bring wickets. |

A massive band of rain moving slowly across Ireland & into Northern England. Looks a lot of rain for quite a few hours

Thx jucel.
I think we will do well to get half the overs in today. Draw going shorter. Maybe 1.6 before play starts sometime after lunch. |

Looks like a typical English day. Pissing it down all morning and then sunshine in the late afternoon

Interesting Test here. Hard for me to judge from Aust, but forecast doesn't look as diabolical as the BF move suggests.
Last 10 tests at Headingley 5 Wins for team batting 1st, 4 for team batting 2nd, 1 draw. Conditions point to hard to bat first. Will see the coverage and work out an angle. GL |
By:
If we don't see a few wickets when play does happen today, draw will go awfully short Saturday as it looks to be the best batting day. Can see the draw going under 1.3.

Main rain should be clear around 9/9.30am. Could start on time after all! Few showers about after that but hard to predict if they hit or not.
By:
Meteo rain radar forecast, generally pretty reliable, shows rain well past 9:30.

Just a matter of waiting now for the TV to show pics of rain with the covers on.

Thx for the warning. Although I'm pretty confident.
