Weather shouldnt be a factor here.

Last 10 tests here 8 results with 2 draws. Perhaps surprisingly 6 of those 8 winners have batted 2nd. 6 from those 10 matches the team that won the toss has sent the other side in to bat, with South Africa usually sending the other team in if winning the toss.

The average runs for the team batting first over last 10 matches is 300. In those ten if you take out the high of 580 and the low of 45 its 297.

Obviously I think South Africa win but looking for a small lay at the 1.25 with a view to it trading higher.

GL All.

Not much in the way of opportunities here.

SAF should win, but lay WI at 19 and you'll take a bath if they win.

Trading the draw a bit, looking to go into the match with a draw green to trade out.

143 clicks with a limp! Mind you the pitch looks easy enough! Expect a big partnership from Smauels and Cgiv then maybe the customary collapse. If they don't collapse I'd like to think the draw is going to come in

Absolutely right, sure batsmen would rather face this than the front line bowlers, they're just looking to survive to tea. SA should have the field in attacking as much as possible.

I jumped in too early! now trying to limit losses! Can't really see anything but an SA win from here. Last 2 dismissals were shocking from WI. They really are comedy gold and it must be difficult for 'Death to commentate on this. Mind you he has some practice!

actually rather shcoking how Shiv got stumped.  I won a lot of dough when they played NZ last year. I knew the gods were with me because he got stumped for the first time in 150 odd test matches with rain threatening! His dismissal today was mateurish, very strange.

Wake up folks!

There is a chance of an anomoly here. WI despite giving away half their wickets have runs on the board. Despite bowling 65% odd of their deilveries with the new ball less than halfway down the wicket are still not out of this match!

I know it does seem odd but have a good look at the pitch and what it is doing. It looks worn and may well crack up. Plenty of tall bowlers around.

Pretty big odds for lunch on day 2 of a Test Match in my view. Weather set fair. Light doesn't seem to be a problem.

15.5 on WI is worth a sheckle in my view. May rise higher still with Amla and DeVilliers due but keep an eye out.

You heard it here first!

'I hear it rains down in Africa.'

Bit of rain in the forecast but not enough to worry about.

SAF should be good enough here, but can see draw shorter.

I think it rains on the High Veld not so much down in the Cape plus you got the sea breeze. Not saying SA won't smash another pathetic and embarassing WI side but I feel there may well be an opportunity to make some money here not so much by skill but the punt is on the pitch.

another shocking give away this by FAF! No hurry. If this game goes all the way I will eat my shorts! Was just about to top up at 50 too!

as I said absolutely no chance of rain! Glad I kept my green on the draw!  Will hope for some sweating under the covers tonight. These two Saffers could take the game away but we live in hope with good green on WI and draw and a smallish red on SA. 13 wickets in 2 days. will they start early tomorrow? I still cannot see a draw. SA must be hoping to bat once as RDG says. Lead of 150 must surely win game. Can WI bowl SA out for less than 400.....unlikely but possible

This pair look good for a big one. Can see SAF posting a 100+ lead.

More rain forecast Monday, but probably more cloud than rain, disadvantaging WI. Can see this over late day4/early day 5. Although SAF bowling sounds a bit off.

Took a punt on SAF yesterday, and while I missed the best prices, still in good shape.

No early start according to cricinfo.

Boom,

The forgotten game! All the shackle draggers ( with respect to our friends in the Southern ) watching bbl. New ball jew soon.

This game has the potential to be good for betting. Still expect SA to win but really am expecting the unexpected too.

In the time you were waiting for something to happen apart from SA cleaning up, you could have made a killing on the BBL, then changed channels back here to the usual.  Not sure where the money is to be made.  Looks like they are about to tee off.  16 off the last over, could declare 200 in front, then bowl them out, more than likely.

Shame the forum is so quiet for this match. I backed the draw at 10/1, so feeling happy. Can see this being a draw with Chanders batting mid order slowly for 3 or 4 hours.

I can't see a draw Blades.

But 10-1 is a good starting point well done!

Not much lateral movement so it is all about concentration. The pitch hasn't exploaded but the portents are there for all to see. Having said that 3 SA run outs and several WI gave their wickets away so maybe you might be right. Philanderer proving impotent is a big help here. 193 wicketless balls. Previously 31 wickets, one every 29 balls go figure!

Morne is my man for damage tomorrow. Tall is not nice.

Can't believe i am already in the black!

well that went better than I feared.  WI were backed up to a hundred, I think up to 70 before they had conceded a first innings lead. I just felt that was cavalier and careless. As can be seen they are still in the game and a bit of reality may sink in tomorrow. The only question for me is when and how will WI throw this away and can I curb my greed enough to take a respectable green?

Could be some rain but hard to predict...

Windies need a 250 lead to justify their price. Even then I would fancy SA to win easily. Pitch is fine, in fact it's a belter to bat on.

Anyone else mute the comms? So much inane chat and don't get me started on the endless replays.....
By:
Whisperingdeath
When: 04 Jan 15 17:46
Injera I don't think the pitch is fine!

I think it is a diffiicult pitch to score freely on ( unless you are ABV ) but once in it should be difficult to dislodge a batter although there is the odd low bounce and it is taking spin.

There is little sideways movement and many of the batsmen have given their wickets away plus 3 run outs so both sides should have batted longer and for more runs but there is an underlying threat that the pitch may break up and that is what is interesting.

There may be a shower but as usual the forecast with pictures of rain induces a belief that it will rain for hours. 40-60% chance of precipitation means there may be a quick shower.

I am not sure if it is possible but if WI set in excess of 200 ( 250 ideally ) they stand a pretty good chance imho. Now I have to wait until the morning.  I will not be able to sleep for thinking of the many ways WI can stuff this up. This is a Ship pitch and he is due a score. His stumping in the first innings was unfathomable.

This could be an exciting finish

Fair points Whispering.

Looking at the team scores and number of batters to get in I'd say it's a belter!

I got rid of my huge Windies green this morning and regretting it now..not cos I think they'll win but because they may well trade in single figures which would be v.annoying!!!

Hoping for a bit of rain ad draw price crash which would suit me fine.

I just love test cricket. Happy

Expecting brilliant sunshine howeverCry

This will put the cat amongst the pidgeons in the morning. Still a little surprised the draw has come in so much. Maybe someone knows more than me. Still plenty of time for WI to hoist the white flag.

That is one massive draw crash. Got to 25s when Windies lost their second wicket.

8s by the close and now 6/4. Very rare to see the market caught out so much.

what an earth is going on?

My nocturnal habits cost me an early rise and missed out on laying the draw for 1.6-1.7. Bought my SA red at 2.12 TFFT!

Now going to have a cheeky punt on WI at 70's!

Ok latest is inspection at 2pm so maybe play by 3pm? still enough time for WI to lose this game.
By:

When: 05 Jan 15 12:03
warm and humid. should be some play. the defecit is wiped out so SA will have to match whatever WI score.

Unlikely as this sounds if WI get bowled out they have set a toatl and are in the game? This is quite exciting. Cleared my red but have not booked any profit yet.
