Market has this as a toss up.

I'd say SAF are a better one day side, even without their regular openers. Should be a good match. Pity Philander isn't in.

South Africa, tend to choke, at this stage of a competition, but at the Oval, well there ought to be 300 scored on that pitch and Amla likes playing at the Oval. England would have a better chance, by batting first and actually trying to score 300 or more, rather than aiming for between 270/90

South Africa have been poor in the competition and are extremely lucky to be in the Semi Final, similar comments are true of England.

One thing is for sure, in competitions such as this the winner rarely starts on top of their game, they usually become stronger as the competition goes on.

This particular game hinges on the performances of key players.  Can one of Englands top three bat to the 40+ over and will Eoin Ravi or Joss be able to apply the finishing touches, Englands weakness has been their batting.  They come up against a team that are far from full strength as a bowling unit, Steyn unfit, Morkel out, Philander, McClaren and Morris lead the attack.

In my opinion the toss is crucial, I fancy the English bowlers to restrict South Africa should they bat first, leaving a manageable score to chase down.  England are good when they know the rate to chase, poor when they are setting a game up.  Bat first and win, Bowl first and its a lottery.

Percentage call is England.

Strongly fancy England here and backed them accordingly, we may not like the way they have played but they did top their group.

crazy price on england now.

massively depleted saffers side. bresnan out is not a big deal. neither is tredwell for swann.

toss is big as swing seems likely today.

I'm surprised the England price hasn't contracted further on Steyn news plus England winning toss.

What has Bairstow to do to get into the England side.He is a better batsman that either
Morgan or Butler (who fail nearly every time) & although not the greatest is a better
wicket keeper than Butler.

No bet to start with but if S.A. get 300+ I will be betting odds on them.

This game is all about how well or otherwise England's bully boy bowlers fare.

like the way peterson has played here.  Been promoted up the order and has counter attacked from 4/2.  Had a bit of luck but has primiarly helped SA recover and not get bogged down early by a really low rr.

done his job.  45/3, 6 overs of jimmy out of the way.  Down to the other batsmen to capitalise on the weaker links in the bowling now.  Going to need Du Plessis, Duminy, or De Villiers to score big here though.
