English batting line up is not as fluid as Indian for example where Dhoni keeps shufling himself or other batsmen depending on match situation. England more often than not keeps at a set plan
By:
yep. msd could come in anywhere between 3 and 6. we're typical of the ECB, traditional and outdated.
By:
he's doing ok, 11 off 11
go on son fill ya boots |
By:
Its working so far..hope it keeps working have a dutch on them as well for the winners

By:
we need about 110 off 25 overs. gonna be a push.
By:
Cook not timing it
By:
does look a tricky pitch, were doing well. anything over 110 after 25 and we should get a biggy.
By:
gonna have a bit more of the windies after todays game. their price will be 4-5 if they beat the saffers
By:
Yup they are batting well here. Need to carry on.
By:
Was going to watch this but then realised that Jonathan Twatt is batting.
By:
Sold him..

By:
he's doing okay s or a, surprisingly.
By:
5 an over for the next 5.
By:
These two guys don't use the lofted shot too often, their record in ODI's, Cook has scored 2550 runs and only 6 sixes, Trott has scored 2605 runs and only 3 sixes.
By:
SoA who you on?
By:
Trott 2.0?
By:
were on for 300+
By:
Neah 300 is far far away
By:
im on it, odds matched around 4.5.
i'd be very very surprised if we didnt get there. |
By:
not a spinners pitch. they've used up too many overs for the quicks already. had some over 325 at 19/1!!
COME ON ENGLAND |
By:
Well we were on track the last time too..but they just didnt pick up lets see if they do it this time and also the ramping by bumble this is not a 300 pitch blah blah blah
By:
300 too optimistic, 280 a more realistic target (should be enough to win)
By:
Key is what target Cook has in mind. If they have settled for 280 then they might pace it towards it. As of now they dont seem in any rush.
By:
8 Boundaries just in 28 overs that is very less.
By:
Stupid waste of a review
By:
no great loss really. just hope they don't spend too long bedding in and get on with it. fantastic platform for a big one.
By:
They should aim for run a ball from here at least.
By:
That wicket probably enhances the possibility (not probability) of England having a chance of scoring 300, no way were those two going to have a run rate of 6 or more when Malinga comes back on.
By:
Score board is almost the mirror image of England-Australia scoreboard. England mugged it up big time in that match in the end. I hope they dont do that today.
By:
going to try and accelerate now, they need to as Malinga will be on later
trouble is they will chuck wickets 280 would be barely enough from here |
By:
England should understand that they should not leave the charge today till the end. Srilanka is clearly saving Malinga for the end and trying to get over with the likes of Dilshan to cover up for mathews and eranaga
By:
But we have Mr Root and Mr Trott to keep milking singles here
![]() ![]() ![]() |
By:
8 boundaries in 34 overs. Good score but they could have scored so much more i think.
By:
boundaries = risk shot easy enough to milk here now go for the risky shots
By:
The charge never came the last time round so lets see if it comes today.
By:
May be take 6 overs off from remaining 15 and make them 25 runs..as these people dont look to take any risk against him. So that makes 191 and remaining 9 overs about 70 so they should be making around 260s i think
By:
Good over for England that one. Malinga has now 5 left
By:
Clever plan of SRI...having these two in for PP.....
By:
Yup SL wouldnt mind 7RR in PP. So at the moment SL would be happy.
By:
Hahahaha Root had no idea..but good over for England again. 4 left from Malinga.
