Have to say I really fancy SL tomorrow, as I fear Malinga will cause all sorts of problems to our batting. We will try to get around 220 from 40 overs and then get little from our last 10, so around 270 and that will not be good enough.

SL were one of my pre tournament bets cri****. having watched their batting performance LTO I took a loss trading it back. Windies and India i'm happy with.
Dilshan just throws his wicket away, Sangakara is a spent force there is very little support to Malinga in the bowling department. Was a mug bet from myself. I expect England to win easily, especially if bowling first (weather permitting) |

SL poor last time and I don't see them getting better. Malinga would have to get 2 or 3 upfront for them to have a chance. And while Malinga is a great death bowler, it should all be wrapped by then.

Hi steview, I left betfair, just after, I posted that. Englands bowling is ok, but at the Kia Oval, they are good batting wickets, although the outfield won't be as fast as usual today, due to the heavy rain of the past 24 hours. Yes Sri Lankas batting hasn't fired yet, but England will go steadily if they bat first and try and make sure they get 270/280, however we took a lot of runs off the last few overs against the very poor Aussies, the other day, to get our total up to respectable. Malinga will bowl probably 4 of the last 10 overs and wickets slow down the run rate. If we get say only 190-210 off the first 40 overs, well our score may well be lowish. At the prices SL at 7/5, make more appeal than England at 4/6, at betfair prices.

im sick of putting in golf bets on the first day, although the lay of woods could be shrewd. i usually get involved at the start of day 3 now. if he goes odds on i'll lay him.

not yet steam. betting on day 1 is the quick way to the poor house, unless your laying. i dont like small profits which is all i could afford laying.

by the way i had mcdowell westwood mickelson and oosthuizen all lined up to bet on and then declined. so one of them is a nap to win now.

i think westwood will do it one day, and a tough golf course will be the type he will win on. a course where par to -1 is a good score. he misses too many mid range putts to win a -15 tournament. 30/1 on betvictor places 1-7 is what tempted me. if i had to nap a player it would be mcdowell, mickelson looked in good shape last week too.

the bbc and met office say there might be small showers but it looks like we will get a completed game. i hope so. the india pakistan game on saturday will be a cracker with a huge crowd. i really hope india smash them.
