Just laid England at 1.65
They were around 1.95 before the first test so are they now that much better? I think this is a big over-reaction to 2 hours of mayhem yesterday when Broad blew NZ away for just 68
The thing is England were supposed to win the match so it wasnt exactly a shock result. They were expected to be the better side in the match but after 3 days the match was even. At the start of day 4 then you would have said England should be higher odds to win the 2nd test than the first based on the first 3 days.
Stuart Broad is a 'hot and cold' bowler and yesterday he was red hot. The odds for the 2nd test seem to imply that he is going to be red hot in the 2nd test also but this cannot be relied on. Also England are now 1-0 up to a 2 test series. This means they only need a draw to win the series. Im not suggesting Cook wont be trying to win but he is less likely to take as many risks i.e. scoring fast runs and making risky declarations to set up a win than if the score was 0-0.

I didn't say you were wrong, I agreed with you, just couldn't see how there would be more play today when looking at the forecast.
because they are playing in the rain, thats why.
personally I think they should play in the rain all the time, but its just the inconsistency of it that annoys me.

there is no precedent though - in the next match theyll probably refuse to let them play
the reason for it is simple - the umpires think that there were just two wickets to go - you can guarantee if NZ were just 3 wickets down, they would not be out there

How it is raining and when raining, not supposed to be playing but now they are playing
the number of wickets left should be irrelevant
either I dont know the rules or you don't, I always thought they played in light rain.I don't see the batsmen playing up

well its true,so many swings at low odds then up to higher odds a lot of which is based on hearsay
gotta feel for draw backers here , theres no way they'd play in theses conditions on the first day of a test , umps seem like they will play on until the tenth wicket falls whatever the weather 
Been raining for a while - umps obviously giving England time as it's only 1 wicket. Should really wrap this up.

Wont see many better 1.13 shots in the course of your life here. 1 batsman at the tail to last 50 wickets with no rain in sight

of course it does,if nz were 220-4 i doubt they would be out there but it isnt rocket science 1 wkt left and light rain
the law doesn't say that the state of the game should be taken into consideration on whether conditions allow play or not , thats all at the umps discretion
would love a draw here,just to reinforce the contempt and poor spirit.

LoL curious cat , was a strange test match that , but happy with the outcome , i hope cook isn't as passive in the upcoming ashes ,with his declarations / follow on decisions etc ...
Members on here saying there would not be a result at Headingly in this match, I stated that it would not last 300 overs and it lasted 295.1 overs. England resounding winners in both matches, although, that's what it should have been.
Another shocker for me. Went from all green to large red on England. Still it was an unusual decision and on another day I might have made £6k - that's life.
I was 3k all green at 7.30am this morning after backing the draw again last night and looking at 5 if it had been a draw. I escaped with just over half this mornings green but have learned so much today.
Sky news weather about 8am this morning screwed it, the draw went from 1.6 to almost evens in a breath whilst I was making breakfast and not really concentrating.
It was a day long battle from then on, trying to get it back and getting it wrong as I just didnt realise how bad the panic gets when the market goes tits up and I missed too many breaks
Thats me done until the Ashes.......noticed the market for the first test is up and running!
