Yeah, not got it right really but still made some money - I never complain at that.  Biggest mistake was thinking it would be a draw - should have leveled green on IND/Draw as it really was a toss of a coin.

Yeah, I much prefer test cricket.  Might not even bother betting on IPL - only strategy that might work is laying short odds given potential for big gubs and match fixing.

Report Darlo Bantam March 18, 2013 11:15 AM GMT
There's a minimum number of overs that can be bowled during the last day/session, so don't think negative captaincy/fielding to avoid bowling overs works.

Report Darlo Bantam March 18, 2013 11:20 AM GMT
Except you have to bowl the required number of overs on a final day whether it takes five minutes or five hours. There's a law to prevent slow over rates simply to gain a draw.

they were only required to bowl 15 overs in the last hour.

they should have slowed it down a bit until the final hour,

he also attacked far too much.  if he restricted them they might have had to take a few risks to get the run rate up.

it was clueless from start to finsh tbh

bonkers stuff from clarke. was never gonna bowl out india in 30 overs on that pitch with his bowlers.

Bowling full on Vijays pads early on with no midwkt covering the boundary etc..Cry

what he could have done is stranggled the right handers by bowling into the rough (JUST LIKE WEST INDIES
DID IN DOMINICA!!)
could have picked up a few wkts thru batsmen getting frustrated and got the RRR up.

Then he could attack with the ball with his pacers and slips etc...
Report nigelpm1 March 18, 2013 5:09 PM GMT
Wow, that is amazing - the sheer self belief of Clarke never ceases to amaze me.  Like I said earlier in the thread unless India were on the fixing game there is no way AUS could win that test match with 30 odd overs.
