Surprised the draw is at 4s minimum, Eng 1.67, NZ sevens.  Dunedin just sounds like a rainy place, decent back to lay pre match?  Less than seven grand matched so far.

I expect some quick scoring with a hard ball and attacking field.  I also expect Compton to make the walk of shame!

I would predict an NZ win after tea tomorrow should there be no fireworks with the new ball.  England should bat ok today as long as the cloud doesn't help Southee and Wagner too much.  Martin might take a couple tomorrow afternoon.

It will do with some runs.

Good idea to do it before Compton gets out then PJ!

I think England will make a good start and better odds will follow for NZ.

Surviving the new ball more important than runs.

i am not a massive compton fan - but think he gets a little bit of a hard time. he ground out good time in India - didnt kick on, but batted for a reasonable amount of time. now one inns in nz where everyone else fails and he has got no chance..

It's autumn now

Nick Knight's inanity perfectly demonstrated in 9 words.

"Ross Taylor - if he gets a hundred, pretty sure they  will have a big lead."
Report DStyle March 8, 2013 10:23 PM GMT
at least he was talking about the cricket.

it's just inane background noise from knight.
Report ecdub2 March 8, 2013 10:26 PM GMT
true.. but when a team that bats first get rolled for 160, and the number 4 comes in at 250-2, to say if he adds a hundred there may well be a bit of a lead. inane noise to me Excited

New Zealand price drifting like it's the last day. How long till the draw hits 1.01? 15 minutes maybe?
Report trader pj March 8, 2013 10:35 PM GMT
This is one of those matches where the prices are going to jump in big leaps 2.6 into 1.8 on one wicket. that sort of thing.
Report Whisperingdeath March 8, 2013 10:37 PM GMT
yep,

2.6 sounds good to me.  Should have taken some last night.  Patience!

ENG need to still bat until past tea tomorrow I reckon.  Draw starting to get too low.

compton doing what he did in India... not sure who expected any different Wink
Report nigelpm1 March 8, 2013 11:35 PM GMT
problem is NZ only need a few lapses of concentration from ENG and wickets go.
Report Darlo Bantam March 8, 2013 11:42 PM GMT
Not sure I agree the draw is too low. The bottom line is that this should be comfortable for England. Yes, it's a long time to bat without losing any concentration but I think England should do so comfortably.
Report VCM March 8, 2013 11:47 PM GMT
Agree with Darlo. If NZ can make nearly 500 against England attack, England should be capable of similar against this attack.
Report DStyle March 8, 2013 11:47 PM GMT
england probably need to bat to about half an hour before tea imho.
Report Mike-lfc March 9, 2013 12:19 AM GMT

Report judorick March 9, 2013 12:32 AM GMT
batting looking very easy now they've seen off the ball, should be ideal for compton to get a sizeable total

the 1.43 the draw is tricky to trade though

Sorry I traded out of the draw at 1.7 , but a bird in the hand etc applies I suppose .

England could bat through until tomorrow night by the looks of things , sorry I didnt have a look at England runs for second innings , only thing putting me off was the possibility of weather interference .
Report pxb March 9, 2013 3:08 AM GMT
I doubt we will see an aggressive declaration from Eng, but if we do and McSlogger gets going we could see a result.

Anyway after a horrible start to this match, a decent profit at the end for me.

Can't see a declaration!

Still some opportunity on the exchange though.

New ball due.  No reason why it should be any different today except pitch is now day 4 plus a few effectively.  Night watchman and new centurion.  A couple of quick wickets and the odds will change rapidly before they settle down and reality kicks in.

Big gamble but the odds make it acceptable for a few shekels.

New ball has already come out.  In fact it's already 7 overs old.

Only way now for either ENG or NZ to win is a collapse from either side.  On this pitch it looks almost impossible.

In fact even if ENG repeat their batting performance from day 2 from here on in they'd have a lead of 100 by tea.

Probably not enough but it's going to be cloudy all day tomorrow so unlikely to get a full day's play in either.

Odds look right to me.
