You'll probably get better than 2.6 to lay the draw in play logroller - Adelaide is a really good batting batting travk for the first three days.
By:
Maybe wait until day 3 if you're going to lay the draw. Should be plenty of runs first couple of days making it a cheap lay by then? Day 4 and 5 traditionally more in it for the bowlers. Hoping for a result.
What do others think? |
By:
tend to agree with Logroller.... think 2.60 is short.....
in saying that both teams spinners are average. If Aus bat first I#m laying the draw from the off. First session is where i can see Saffers cashing in |
By:
adelaide is typically a road to bat on, very humid place
I would be careful about lumping on laying the draw |
By:
this pitch will b different, it will show something for the quicks from the get go
By:
Ordinarily in a match between two balanced teams it would be wise to wait until the coin is tossed and even more so to see how the first hour goes. Both sides have good fast bowlers if Cummins and Stark play. Looking forward to it. I'd be inclined to back SA if they win the toss or lay the Convicts. If Aus bat I'd have to see the first hour and if they make the first session work for them I'd maybe only then go for the draw. Money in pocket for now.

By:
yeah, pure gamble until things start to play out unless you know something about the weather forecasts
By:
Aus were 2/3 on the first morning of the Ashes game a couple of years ago and draw never went below S.P., which was 2.1 iirc, for the rest of the game.
By:
draw went odds on here vs eng. was an eng/draw flip flop market battle on the final day.
By:
If SA bat first and get a big score there could be a result. The pitch is likely to be flat for 3 days then take spin. SA batsmen are probably good enough to play out for a draw but not Aus imho. Lets see how it pans out.
By:
the draw must have been odds on at close of day 4 then lix as aus lost
their remaining 6 wickets in the first 20 odd overs of day5-dont see how draw/eng could have flipped |
By:
Cummins out for the Summer. I hope Starc plays but think the selectors might stay with same attack from the Gabba. I think the first few days will be good for batting, big lay of the draws days 4/5 at cheap price if match pans out as I expect.
By:
If the pitch is great for batting it might be the perfect time to play five bowlers. The Aussie attack needs five bowlers if they're going to bowl the likes of Quiney and Hussey without a fifth.
Lyon is ok, but he leaks runs meaning he only bowls 15-ish overs a day. That leaves a big workload for the other three. |

gays this match is draw

not sure about that. Think Brissie is now the flattest pitch in aus and that would've seen a result last week but for a day of rain. Both attacks will be more potent this time with Tahir coming in for the useless Kleiveld and Starc coming in for Hilfy.
gonna wait for near evens and lay the draw i think. |
By:
Starc not coming in. Aus playing same 11.
By:
not sure thats a good idea..

By:
No terrible idea... Need Starc in for sure offers something different and more chance of taking wickets than Hilfy.
By:
cannot remember the last time there were draws back to back in Australia.
I'm with Lix here...Brisbane was an absolute road.....as it was for Ashes test and we still would of got a result if not for losing a day.... Reckon Oz are very brittle at top of order if we bat first. |
By:
2 draws only in the last 10 tests in Adelaide, and 5 good days expected weather wise. Draw underpriced at this stage. A wait and watch for me, sometime batting first can yield 350 -40 and it look good but easier conditions batting second set up match with 550 600, might back team batting second as they drift

By:
AUS bat 1st and philander out huge for me. SA attack did struggle 1st test but kleinveldt dont care what anyone says .
Been watching him for the best part of a decade and is not test quality ever . finish. steyn morkel and tahir mite have a heavy workload infront of them |

kleinveldt career over as soon as it started. what a waste of a front line seamers spot
By:
cant believe how quiet the runs and session run lines are. ive priced sessions up to barely more han 100%and still can lay or be laid a bean.
By:
this won't be a draw, they keep piling them on at this rate

This wicket could turn out to be the hinge f the match for me. Although Wade is a good bat, the rest are not. I'm waiting and watching to have a cheeky side bet on Bokke. Days 2 and 3 will be a batters paradise. Anything below 450 at current run rate leaves Aus exposed imho batting effectively last. I feel SA have better batting line up although Clarke is in the form of his life and Hussey is dangerous ( as is Wade ). Any hint of reverse swing after tea and I am on SA for a speculative punt could also lay Aus at near evens if they bat on strongly.
Apparently Kallis has a sore hamstring so my punt might not be on but I feel a lay of Aus might be a better bet |
By:
just cannot have Saffers in this spot....
They cannot risk Kallis bowling if he has hammy issues that leaves them with two bowlers and batting last... |
By:
Aus could be around 450 by the time second new ball comes! Watching and waiting for a wicket! Cant force myself to back the Convicts, goes against the grain.
By:
Steyn has a hamstring strain too! That leaves Tahir and Kleinfeld! SA will have to bat for 2 and a half days to save this one!

Am not betting against Aus today. They got the rub without doubt. Dont fight the cricket Gods!

Score Australia 4/455 Clarke* 200 Hussey 100
.......nice reading for the Aussies |

people will say "oh the aussies are just lucky that they lost their all rounder"
heh.. please, as if it didn't happen to us either @WhisperingDeath: don't let your bias and hatred get in the way of a money making opportunity |

Almost 500 runs in a day, is that some kind of test match record? Certainly can't remember any side scoring as fast as that in recent years.
