After Hants' collapse against Leics yesterday (LEICS FFSShocked) I really couldn't fancy them to score enoughto  trouble Trescothick, Kieswetter etc., even with all Zum's injury problems.

Hants really need Dimi Mascarenhas to fire with the bat and the ball, and I have my doubts whether he's going to be on top form after his latest absence through injury.

Sure you see it differently though.Grin

Genius captaincy from Yardy here, ensuring that Styris doesn't get to the crease.

Screaming - this is bizarre. Truly odd. No way should Murray have been ahead of Styris either.

Fair enough, rev ike. But what about their collapse to the same joke Leics attack 2 days earlier? The first innings collapse was even worse than the one yesterday.

Bet that Goodwin was licking his lips at the Champions League opportunities, Lix.

Maybe he's already spent the advance with any luck.

I think there are just too many passengers in the Hants batting, ike. Simon Katsh1t looks gone at the game, while Bates's wicketkeeping is nowhere near good enough to justify his dreadful batting. A pair for him in the Leics match.

But, yes. They do have some good T20 specialists, such as James Vince and Mascarenhas (if fit). And Zum's bowling could well have one or two passengers too, with all the injuries - Four overs from Gemaal Hussain could lose any match.

Feel sorry for Nash: the one Sussex player who always tried in all those dodgy games vs Middx, Surrey, Kent etc.

The pitch vs Sussex was quite green, inj. For whatever reason, this summer that type of pitch has provided a lot more bounce than normal. The result is that some of Panesar's 65 mph darts were rearing up alarmingly (apart from the one that got Trego, which skidded through). He still bowls exactly the same unthreatening, non-turning ball every delivery, but in these conditions it was like watching Derek Underwood on a wet wicket.

Is Albie playing today Screaming? Heard he had a knock yesterday

Panesar's best moment in that match was when he was fielding on the long leg boundary with Trescothick on strike. Tres did that sort of slow-motion swivel of his that pulls the ball to the boundary with alarming violence.

Monty stood motionless as the ball crashed into the fence, then turned to the spectators and started demonstrating the shot over and over again. A peeved Murray Goodwin had to trot over from square leg to retrieve the ball, while Monty looked puzzled as to why the packed stand was laughing.
