and Franklin was playing..

dont think it will be much different the team that beat Glos

Having Chapple back fit and bowling the CB40 has been a big boost for Lancs

think they might struggle tonight though as you only have to top edge spinners for 6 at Essex

Essex definitely the value but beware if Lancs bowl first as Chapple is in great form

Essex tail has got to be the best in the country - Napier at 8, Harbhajan at 9 and Tim Phillips at 10 is ridiculously strong for CB40 standard

Napier will probably face about 7 balls...

oh Napier isn't playing, Maurice Chambers in instead, makes Essex a little weaker

Essex too short at 1.75 after that first wicket imo. They've slowed down a lot and it was Westley who had done most of the early scoring. Greg Smith also has a pretty terrible record

yeah agree lancs tail is very weak here Lix, but I really wouldn't be surprised if Essex are 180 all out here and Lancs' top 6 is brilliant. Wheater, Harbhajan, Phillips good at the end of the innings but I wouldn't fancy them battling out the last 20 overs of the innings. Chambers and Mills can't hold a bat.

Is this enough runs for Essex? I know their batting is supposed to be quite good, but their bowling never seems to be.

they sort of are now SoA. up to 5.25 an over required, if they lost a wicket now that'd be a problem. Don't want to be chasing 70 off the last 10 really with their tail

that is nothing. The wickets are far more important.

yeah but pressure of needing to score nearly a run a ball will often bring wickets when you're facing someone as good as Harbhajan

The Essex commentators are annoying. One, the younger commentator, is competent. The older commentator just say 'yes, youre right' or 'yes, as you said' or 'no, you're wrong' or 'no, I don't think that is correct'. Very patronising to his co-commentator.
