New Zealand cant bat and bowl,we saw that in West indies so why is the draw 6/4 do they expect bad westher
By:
NZ should improve for the inclusion of Patel, but they are worthy 12/1 shots playing away in India. Early indications are for scattered T Storms with an indication of circa 350/380 0vers in the match

no Vettori?
They wont take 20 wickets with their attack |
By:
1.7 India looks pretty tempting to me.
NZ might be a trade, but there will be massive opposition to them in running whatever happens so 12 is not great imo Kiwi away record is abysmal - they have won 2 Tests since 2000 away from home if you take out Zim and Bangers, and they are off the back of a shocking tour of WI. Hard to see the positives for them. |
By:
No Vettori, but he has been pretty average in 2012 along with the Kiwis, in the 5 tests he has played he has match figs of 5-439. His replacement is Jeetan Patel who has been bowling well over here. The team is low on confidence and sadly pretty average, the Indians obviously in transition should be way too strong, and unless the weather severely disrupts the test they should win in a canter.

no Vettori?
They wont take 20 wickets with their attack No Vettori probably makes them more likely to take 20 wkts... He's sh1t. gets 1 wkt per inns these days. |
By:
he isn't sh1t
they just block him knowing that they can attack the other end. |
By:
Call me old fashioned but i like bowlers who take wkts and help win matches. DV doesnt do that.

your old fashioned

I dislike him cos he's a **** too. one of NZ's best bats but hides down the order..
![]() Gets Kane and some other part timers to bowl before him too. ![]() |

Weather forecast is for scattered thunderstorms although that could change (for better or worse) rapidly in that part of the world given it's monsoon season. I think there's two possible results (India and draw) but I won't be making a decision til I know who's batting first, the pitch report and see what the local commentators say about the weather.

Draw all the way. The price of the draw will go up when they play for the first 2 days, then the rain will save the Kiwis from being embarrassed. India are not the team of old and the India bowlers have a lot to prove in test formats after the suffering they have suffered against the Aussies and England. India have an element of doubt about themselves mentally and are in a transition period where their confidence is low, also the selector do not even know which bowlers to pick with confidence. If there picking that crap Kachi Ishantt Sharma, then you know India have no decent players as he has been injured for ages and has no played competitive cricket for a long time and he is trying to build himself up. India do not have no bowlers that can cause the Kiwis to be in fear, rather they will gain confidence as the test goes on. The only time the Indians are a decent bet is in the shorter format of the game. Do not trust India at 1.73.

By:
Wait till the match day for a better idea of the weather forecast and lump and leave if you dont have time. If you do then trade while never having a red on India.
India rarely lose in India and hardly draw especially against an opposition like NZ. Last time India drew was against Windies in Bombay and there the odds went to 1.1 on the last day before Ashiwn had a brain freeze and India fell1 run short. |
By:
Last tour to India by NZ a win to India and two draws. 2010.
By:
True but Ashwin a different beast on Indian pitches and finally got rid of Harby. Beat Aussies 2-0 (In a 2 test series) and Windies 2-0 since
NZ have an appaling team. DOnt see them taking 20 Indian wickets without a quality spinner even without Dravid and Laxman. Will compete in short burst with McCullum, Taylor, Marty and Williamson but wont challenge seriously |
By:
Agree with you 100% re NZ taking 20 wickets rohit - best NZ can hope for is a draw. Bit unfair to call them appalling tho - they put up a decent fight against the saffers in NZ recently and had a chance to win the second test against WI. To have a chance of drawing a test in India they need to bat first and a bit of help from the weather wouldn't go amiss.
By:
They have some decent players for their pitches. Not sure how effective Martin, Southee, Boult and Browlnie will be in India and Vettori is fading fast.
If they get a 1st day morning life in a pitch they can nick a few but cant win in INdia without a good spinner and Vettori barely qualifies. With weather they can draw a test ofcourse but 1.75 is value on INdia unless it rains a lot. Can make more if you trade well ofcourse but difficult to spend that amount of time during peak morning hours so lump and leave for me when I see the toss |

All the weather forecasts predict a rainy few days especially during the weekend. Beware of backing the mentally weak Indians who have been ruled by any one who desires to invade, they have always been weak and will continue to be weak minded. They ain't no England/ SA who would eat the Kiwi's to pieces within 3 days. Getting rid of Bhaji (born and bred punjabi) was the worst mistake, he is not a top wicket taker any more but he was mentally strong and the rest of the team followed his example, leading to the no. 1 spot, Ashwin is quality but does not have the same mental pedigree as Bhaji.

Backing favs as low as 1.70 is the way to the poor shanty towns.

By:
In my opinion current market of Draw no bet on India @1.22 on ladbrokes is really a value bet as chances of NZ winning is rare.
By:
Vettori isnt playing rohit
the spinner will be Patel |

Plenty of rain on BBC weather but lost my shirt when Hurricane Ernesto turned up late. NZ are crap but can they bat out for the draw? Don't know whether to lay India or back the draw?
Any advice? Anyone with relatives in Hyderabad? |
By:
NZ will **** up and get bowled out cheaply
By:
even if new zealand played negative cricket and batted 100 overs 1st innings and scored 230 runs the odds of a draw will likely , but can they bat out a day or will they crumble
By:
The weather channel points to no rain on first day so probably best to wait for the toss anyway. If India bat first I can see them racking up 600. I think extreme pace did for NZ in their last match. On these pitches I don't think they will be unduly troubled until the ball starts turning. Ashwin has a high arm and Dhoni is expecting turn and bounce but I'd still rather India bat first for 2 days.
By:
temperature 24-30 degrees - don't imagine rain will hang around long - first bet lay NZ, second bet back India
By:
Gone heavy on India, really hope Virat shows he can cut it in the test matches and with Zaheer still there I'd expect the bowling to pull through.
By:
No doubts about Kohli and even Raina will fill his boots but he has such a problem with short pitched fast bowling I just wonder if he has had as much practice as Bairstow. He would make a great player if he did. Indian pitches and NZ bowelers won't trouble him or the rest of the Indian batting.
I would be really careful about going heavy on India during the monsoon. If they bat first I would lay them back heavy at the end of the day just in case. |
By:
Not matched yet, so I'm just waiting on the toss news. Just been in contact with a friend in India, says the weather is very topsy. Daily forecasts of rain but sometimes it never comes and sometimes it pours down

over 5days id find it hard for them not to lose some overs, i dont think this indian attack is good enough to get stuck in and whip out the kiwis quick, they should be able to hang around a little, india batting first would push the draw in i think with likelyhood of rain more so during weekend.
By:
Runs are easy here...problem is with Indian attack..they dont seem potent enough to take 20 wickets..plus the rain around..I would think draw is a good bet here.
By:
tempted by the draw price here! not sure how the pitch will behave on 2nd and third days, any ideas guys?
By:
bracewell goes down holding right leg? then gets treatment on left leg, weird.
By:
india are gonna hurt this lot
By:
no way this is a draw.. india wil only need to bat once at this rate..
By:
might rain tho innit max. if it doesnt then India defe win.

By:
rain is the danger... NZ lay here is like free money
