England have beaten all comers at Lords in recent years + WE ALWAYS TRADE ODDS ON AT LORDS. FACT.
Lay eng at your peril. you have been warned. ![]() ![]() |
By:
thanks for the heads up lix..

laying em aint the worst idea. we'll probably drift to all sorts if saffers are batting 1st or there's
some rain. you wanna remember to get back on them tho. dont be laying eng anything juicy here. Just pointing out one of my fav punting rules. lay em when they go odds on is usually a good idea... ![]() |

By:
2003 vs SA the last time we didnt trade odds on at Lords.. must be 18/19 games ago.
By:
to be honest... my last 3 tests i haven even entered the market until after 20 overs on the 1st day.. and have made a good profit on all 3.. prob should stick to this rule..
By:
interesting stat about england always trading odds on at lords Lix...i just hope that the rain doesn't spoil what is England's last chance to end this series honours even ...got a feeling Ingerland are gonna do it ... with plenty of drama and big prices to be had along the way ...o yeah , and i hope KP smashes the ball to all parts once again ...

South Africa came here in 2003 and defeated England, came back in 2008 to draw that one and now in 2012 havent looked a side which England can defeat. England's days at the top are over for now...my opening bet laying England , dont see South Africa losing this one, they should be crowned new no 1 after this test.
By:
I think it best to wait until we have seen the pitch and the toss.
By:
The Engli's are 1-0 down with 1 Test left so a result wicket is on the cards. I have layed the draw.
By:
If recent history of Eng/SA series tells you anything, it's not to use past form as a reliable guide to future performance. Some of the swings in fortune have been quite incredible.
By:
They won't be preparing a result wicket that's for sure. The Lords test is a real money spinner, and it's one they'll want going into the fifth day.
Showers are also forecast (some heavy) on three of the five days. And finally, the far superior team South Africa won't be trying to force a result at any stage of the game. There's gonna be a lot of seething on Twitter from the draw layers club when the Saffers are going along at less than 2 runs an over. ![]() Draw lay looks tempting on price alone. But when you factor in the grim realities, you know it's going far, far shorter in this match without question. |
By:
If this is to be a draw I'd be surprised if the weather plays much of a part. Time may be lost but the drainage is such that play will restart incredibly quickly.
Floodlights available. The draw is fancied because Lord's is a belter of a batting pitch and SA have shown their appetite for big hundreds. Any draw layers must hope for some gloomy conditions and plenty of cricket under lights. |
By:
no guarantees the umpires will let them play under the lights though
once the umpires pull them off once with the lights on, you may as well keep them permanently switched off |
By:
Eng have never been 0-1 down going into a decider at Lords before. they may well leave the pitch to
bake like they did at Oval in 2009 and take our chances in a spin off between Swann and Tahir. Perfect weather for it at the mo ![]() |

Can't see End ining this match now. Draw if they bat well otherwise SA win IMO
By:
Can't see England winning this match now
By:
suppose it's not out of the question the saffers take their eye off the ball thinking we're in total disarray
By:
they won't take their eye of the ball. the saffers are always up for beating england.
By:
I'm staying away from this one as I'll be sloshing champers with some la de dah's up in an exec box on day 3 and will likely do my nuts otherwise
By:
Wonder if they will have the balls to drop Bresnan or whether it will be Finn who gets the chop again
By:
I had a big bet yesterday lunchtime on South Africa DNB at evens. The best price now is 8/11. I'm happy with that position at the moment.
By:
Good job max and passy. I layed the draw at 2.18 and it's now 2.54. Will green out at some point before the start.
By:
I agree that we'll the full 450 overs in for this match so points to laying the draw and backing SA IMO
By:
I'd have backed South Africa at 5/2, but the fact that they don't need to win the match means I'd rather be on the Draw No Bet. If they bat first and it's a flat track, I can see them still batting on Saturday morning!
By:
good bet that Max
england wont be winning here |
By:
England must have a fair chance here with The Liability in their team.
The Liability has been Eradicated. ![]() |
By:
agreed. KP often gets less than 20.
By:
whereas Bairstow has never made over 20...

By:
as a side issue, Compton deserves a call up before Bairstow
By:
he nailed it against the Aussie's in the Lions match - let's see what he can do in the Test match.
By:
Went to watch some of that Lions match
it was a complete joke of a match the Aussie bowlers were going through the motions in the second innings |
By:
It is true d13 that Compton deserves a call up before Bairstow....afterall, Bairstow has the wrong accent...and Compton has the right accent to get a game.
By:
I have a tenuous link to Jonny Bairstow - my father went to school with his dad David Bairstow and knew him quite well ;-)
By:
Ok, that's it then nigel, because your dad went to school with JB's dad, we can forgive his lack of a South African accent, and give him our blessing.
Good luck Jonny B. |
By:
LOL - funny thing was he thought he was a bit of a t*t!
By:
Backed some ENG at 4 - reckon we'll be well up for this game and will move in at some point
By:
Englands chances of forcing a win on a good wicket went with Pietersen. A grassy wicket could lead to humiliation. Weather doesn't look great so I'd be looking to lay England or maybe back the draw or both.
Money is staying in pocket until we see the pitch and England bowling attack. I have a feeling that Onions and Swann will be in for Bresnan and KP. Bresnan is useful in providing balance but England need to force a win. |
By:
no chance of playing 5 bowlers here.
By:
Draw is now a must back at 2.52. That's my initial play here. Forecast is for plenty of rain over the course of the test match. 180 overs lost and a result should be impossible on something of a featherbed. On top of that, you have a negative South Africa team who bat slow and long who only need a draw to top the world rankings.
