Looks like rain will interfere again.  An absolute deluge is predicted for Friday which could make it unplayable on Saturday - depends how good the fround staff are etc.. but completed match NO at 1.73 looks extremely tempting

here we go!  1.95 really was stupid once they'd won the toss - crazy price
Report Dado7029 July 7, 2012 1:16 PM BST
It seems like this was a very bad toss to lose

Sometimes I wonder are some of the people posting opinions here watching the game at all. Talking of partnerships and 200+ possible. Never at one stage in the lead up to those last 2 wickets did any Australian batter ever look comfortable.

In fact now that Aussie cause looks lost completely they might loosen up and play a few shots and get some kind of total. I'll take my profit at 1.2 now and have a look later on.

don't know hoe anyone thought Aus could get 200 here today
Report Dado7029 July 7, 2012 1:18 PM BST
I think they will get over 150 though

they could still get 200 - cricket is a funny old game
Report Dado7029 July 7, 2012 1:28 PM BST
6 an over from here makes 200
Report Darlo Bantam July 7, 2012 1:31 PM BST
Hate these cricket markets. I've had to cancel several hundred if not more than a thouand pounds without being matched.
Report Dado7029 July 7, 2012 1:33 PM BST
so what's the par score?
Report cnman July 7, 2012 1:36 PM BST
200 is definitely possible here Scrappy Doo. Don't think they'll get there but it's not ridiculous to say they'll do so.

One other thing to remember is that England are stronger in the batting today with Patel replacing Swann, meaning we'll have Patel at 7, Bresnan at 8 and Broad at 9.
Report cnman July 7, 2012 1:42 PM BST
no idea of par score in these conditions Dado, I'd probably guess around 230ish
Report Footiefan111 July 7, 2012 1:43 PM BST
disgusting peformance from Australia, david warner and shane watson set the tone 2 runs off 5 overs ffs Angry
Report nigelpm1 July 7, 2012 1:43 PM BST
I'd have put par closer to 200
Report Footiefan111 July 7, 2012 1:44 PM BST
they let ravi bopra just bowl at them, never put any pressure on him
Report cnman July 7, 2012 1:52 PM BST
England bowled very well today but been very poor in the field. Clarke dropped by Morgan and Anderson, and Hussey dropped by Bopara and Bell. Been lots of misfields as well. Could be worth an extra 20-30 runs which is a hell of a lot in difficult conditions
Report Footiefan111 July 7, 2012 1:54 PM BST
australia and new zealand are rubbish
Report Footiefan111 July 7, 2012 1:56 PM BST
should have scored 240 at least on this pitch
Report Footiefan111 July 7, 2012 1:57 PM BST
nothing has changed with this australia team in England conditions they cant play the moving ball
Report Footiefan111 July 7, 2012 1:58 PM BST
australia will lose the ashes series 4-0 or 5-0 next year
Report Dado7029 July 7, 2012 1:59 PM BST

Report nigelpm1 July 7, 2012 2:00 PM BST
of course it's possible, some odd posts earlier - can only assume these people don't follow cricket closely

Report Footiefan111 July 7, 2012 2:01 PM BST
its too late now for the aussies needed 240 to 250
Report nigelpm1 July 7, 2012 2:03 PM BST
220 not out of the question
Report Dado7029 July 7, 2012 2:03 PM BST
I'd actually go as far as saying aussies would be disappointed now not to get 200 as these two are set
Report Dado7029 July 7, 2012 2:04 PM BST
what a shame looked like Brett Lee was going to smash a few there what a shame :(

Report tsango July 7, 2012 2:05 PM BST

brett lee has put the top order to shame
Report Dado7029 July 7, 2012 2:06 PM BST
I little worried that Aussies won't make it to 50 overs now but nevertheless these bowlers aren't that bad
Report betfire July 7, 2012 2:07 PM BST
remember england have an extra batsman today...
Report Footiefan111 July 7, 2012 2:09 PM BST
michelle clarke is a crap odi batsman, i dont know why they continue to pick him
Report Dado7029 July 7, 2012 2:09 PM BST

Report cnman July 7, 2012 2:15 PM BST
brilliant catch from Bresnan. very difficult chance, but a lot of the other fielders' efforts to shame with that one
Report pixie July 7, 2012 2:17 PM BST
England great price at 1.33, imo.
Report scliffor July 7, 2012 2:17 PM BST
Worth remembering that Australia have actually picked their better seam bowlers today. Think Hilfy and Pattinson could ask more qns of Eng's top order than anyone else they have faced this season. Hilfy well suited to these conditions.
Report Dado7029 July 7, 2012 2:20 PM BST
England have fielded well too perhaps saved around 15 runs due to good fielding
Report pixie July 7, 2012 2:20 PM BST
Maybe Scliffor, but England batting in better conditions at under just 4 an over should be a doddle.
Report Dado7029 July 7, 2012 2:22 PM BST
200 is going to be tough 20 per batsmen not going to be a stroll in the park
Report DStyle July 7, 2012 2:25 PM BST
don't fecking change the field because bresnan bowled two foul pies
Report Dado7029 July 7, 2012 2:26 PM BST
unlucky from David Hussey there just didn't take it in the middle of the bat
Report rob_dylan July 7, 2012 2:27 PM BST
On cricinfo they have rfm after Finns name and rfm after Brennan's name, is that right fast medium and right medium fast?  Presumably the former is considered quicker, slightly, than the latter?  If so its a new one on me.
Report rob_dylan July 7, 2012 2:28 PM BST
Should be rmf after banana name.
Report rob_dylan July 7, 2012 2:29 PM BST

Report nigelpm1 July 7, 2012 2:33 PM BST
deary me - you can't class a bowler based on the last over where the opposition are swinging it around.  I often wonder if posters on these forums actually understand cricket.
Report Dado7029 July 7, 2012 2:35 PM BST
England all out for 130 lol.....hopefully
Report betfire July 7, 2012 2:42 PM BST
pitch is better now for batting..we will see a complete different game in 2nd unnings.....eng to chase this in about 3rd powerplay
Report Red Jam July 7, 2012 2:54 PM BST
Agree this pitch should be easier to bat on now.
I think trott could be important in his chase to glue the inns for eng. his batting style should suit this match, needs to bat through when he gets in
Report betfire July 7, 2012 2:58 PM BST
this match is just like the one at lords....eng did well in the first innings to post 280 n it was much easier in the 2nd innings
Report DStyle July 7, 2012 3:10 PM BST
it's not just a case of the pitch being better for batting; it's the case that anderson and finn were absolutely formidable this morning and are a class and a half above australia's best.

i'd actually think about opening with halfenhoos and pattinson: lee's just too gun barrel straight.
Report betfire July 7, 2012 3:16 PM BST

Report Scrappy Doo July 7, 2012 4:02 PM BST
maybe just maybe England are too good?
Report lustrumm July 7, 2012 4:12 PM BST
That was my initial Point Scrappy and like an eejit I traded out at 1.2 and missed the 1.5 after.

What the Australian finish told me was that there was sweet FA wrong with the pitch except that poor play was taking play on it. While England may drag this out for 40 overs in truth they could get there much quicker if they wanted. To see Australia wasting appeals on longshots tells us how desperate they are.

That is 4 ODI's now (one rained out) and Australia have been favourite in all 4.

They won't be favourite for the next one, nor should they be
Report mafeking July 7, 2012 4:17 PM BST
