new boys pretty rapid.
By:
agree step, trott will be my hinderance should he come in. he'll scratch around and probably reduce number of overs by a 1 or 2 and can be slow starting.
they're half way there in less than half the time against the new ball so hopefully the runs keep flowing as they are. |
By:
hmmmm his my spanner in the works!
50 minutes, 34 required but Trott comes to the crese |
By:
what happened earlier? did the sky comms get caught talking not knowing they were on air? did they give anything away?
By:
when mate ? didnt hear anything
By:
yep happened before the start of play for about 3 minutes, ward, nasser and knight, there was no Andy Grey moment though. Quite funny watching them rehearsing though
By:
remember a beefy pitch report from durham in and england odi few years back going out, was clearly a recorded one which shouldnt have gone out as beefy starts swearing halfway through
By:
anyone on runs here guys..? jost woke up hows the pitch looking?
By:
looking good for the 80.
not a single maiden for the West Indies this morning which is pretty good going from England and i'm sure a pretty rare thing for the first 20 overs of a new ball in a test match. |
By:
I'm on 80 as well. Bit nervous, will feel better after another boundary
By:
yeah not sure now, 10 minutes to get 8 runs, they've slowed a bit recently as well.
By:
hahahha nice rant there.. he has passion i like it
By:
Not sure i'm happy with trott taking the strike again, Strauss seems the more likely to hit my required boundaries at the moment.
By:
yeah very good. wondered what was happening with taylor, just thought he was injurede again. ![]() just amazed by the number of buffoons seemingly in every country that are in charge of running the game. |
By:
i was about to hurl more abuse at trott but i take it back, he's pulled in 6 runs just when required leaving 1 for strauss to pick up.
By:
wp on the 80 runs mate
never in doubt ![]() |
By:
england should be 1.01 here
no way they can lose |
By:
don't understand that. well over half the ball would have hit the stumps. are they saying more than half the ball must be hitting the whole of the leg stump ?
By:
it's always been the law, was it a terrible decision no, should it be over turned. no
By:
although it must be said i would have loved it if it had been given out
By:
edged that one
By:
how much lower can england go during this innings? tempted to have a big lay of them here
By:
and they lose a review for it which is really annoying for them given on another day that could have been given out.
pretty slow start to the afternoon, pie and ale at lunch for trott and the boy strauss? |
By:
Harsh to lose a review when the ball was hitting the stumps. I understand why margin of error is built into the system re out v not out, but I wonder whether they should keep the review if the ball is hitting the stumps.

This is as one sided a test match as you'll see, very much a number one side hammering a number 7 ranked side
By:
yes windies currently getting hammered, you could argue england had some fortune, nevertheless would not of made that much difference
![]() |
By:
England at home are formidable and couldnt argue with their N1 status on that basis. However saffers will give them a run for their money thats for sure
![]() |
By:
saffers and their piss weak tail going home as No3s i reckon
By:
another 80 session runs weighs in at evens.
good comfortable batting |
By:
Smith, Amla, Kallis, dumminy, Villers, Rudolph, Boucher, Steyn, philander, Morkel, Tahir, yes a weaker batting tail but stronger first five batting imo. And equal bowling attack, only difference is home advantage for England which gives them a slight edge in the ecounter
![]() |
By:
probably just edge it to england in top5s though pretty close.
Englands advantages are - better wk/batsman, longer tail, better spinner and seam bowling depth South Africa advantages - best bowler in world, stronger option for 5th bowler |
By:
450/475/500 looks very nice on the run lines
By:
sorry shorter tail that should read
By:
yes currently better wk/batsmen saffers might have villers doing the job then play peterson opening, yes swann better than tahir but not by far on current form, and steps you know my views on Philander
i think hes N1 one in world on current form with Anderson and Steyn fighting for second. |
By:
Think Philander will give England a really hard time compared to this bowling, 140 kphs plus on a metronomic length swinging the ball sharply both ways, aka G Mcrath

By:
out.
By:
Thank phuck for that
By:
score prediction guys... ill go 521
By:
I've grown a Chris Bonnington watching that..
