The draw was 200 this time yesterday?
Report Injera February 5, 2012 8:22 AM GMT
The draw is falling because Pakistan could well bat all day and set England 500+ in 5+ sessions.

They don't have to win this match. With scoring rates low it's possible (if v.unlikely) that Eng bat those sessions without winning.

1 wicket has fallen in 3 seesions so there's a feeling that batting is easier.

A draw is very, very unlikely but those are the reasons the price is dropping.

I would like to express my gratitude to all shrewdies on here who saw the draw coming back in some spectacular fashion. I followed your advice to back draw yesterday though I didn't have balls to nibble some at triple figures. The funny thing is it still can be a draw though it is highly unlikely at the moment. As Pakistan do not need to win I expect them to keep batting untill they are all out and that is not happening today by the look of the things. Can easily see Pakistan 500 now Excited

Entertainment now matching the crowd size  ........ dire.
Report Plechy February 5, 2012 9:28 AM GMT
Bob, the entertainment value will soar again when Pakistan start to bowl and skittle England out for another low score.

With four of England's top 8 batsmen left-handers, they will face a tortuorous time trying to contain the viciously spinning ball spitting out of the rough.

Im all in on pakistan. I find it unbelievable that with the evidence of how difficult it is to bat against the inferior english spinners that pak are lengthening. Not to mention the number of lefties that Eng have.

Fill your boots on Pakistan but in hindsight I should have waited as they may lengthen yet.

just logged on to see check the NFL odds and saw Pakistan to win the test at 1.45??  has someone kidnapped half the team?  surely this is free money, England have never looked like getting 200 nevermind 300!  this would be the second highest score by England to win a test so why are people expecting them to get it at a time where they are completely out of form.  its never going to happen.

Lay Pk for first 15 overs of of day4 and trade out after getting profit of 40 ticks if eng does not lose a wicket.Eng can always survive for a session or so. Even can WIN.

I can say anything because had laid draw @3.65 before toss.

Yes, you can't argue with the STATS, diktat.

For instance, when England cruised to 315-4 to beat Australia at Headingley in 2001, there's no way they could have gone on to get 324 if needed. And, of course, all their other successful 4th-innings chases of lower targets would have gone the same way if extended to 324. The STATS say so.

324 is a mystical target, in the face of which wickets would have suddenly tumbled every time if they had needed to chase this extraordinary number.

of course its possible but which players will get the runs? forget Cook, Bell and Morgan.  Strauss or KP will need to get a big hundred if England have any chance and I just can't see that happening  England have done nothing to suggest that they can get anywhere near this score, I will be amazed if they got 200.  have people just forgotten about 72 all out?? .  I make Pak at 1.25 here not 1.45.

Report Lix February 6, 2012 3:04 AM GMT
did Pak look like getting many over 300 this series until their last innings?
Report mafeking February 6, 2012 4:06 AM GMT
a lot of these historical stats about 4th innings chases are just that

many more higher 4th innings scores in the last decade or so.

that said hard to fancy england's chances here. probably got bat best part of 4 sessions still at the scoring rates in this match.
