No disrespect to the ladies, Olympics is one time where you can appreciate Womens sport but it's not the pinnacle.

GB technically 18 male golds compared to 17 for China and US, a fine effort Cool

Think USA still finished above us.
Report RonnieReagan August 12, 2012 6:06 PM BST
US must have?  if not, this is v interesting.

i agree its a relevant table.

women can more be influenced by government run training camps, by growth hormones as kids etc.

East Germans didnt set male WRs that stand for 30 years, and the Chinese women are doing the business now.  men do ping pong and somersaults agreed, but Chinese men dont do as much.

Nope 29 female and 17 male for US according to nbc.  Ours is 18 in reality but the Team Jumping is a technically a mixed event

But how can you count Farahs 2 and the German bloke in the cycling.
Report RonnieReagan August 14, 2012 9:05 AM BST
well indigenous brits sure beat red indians, if this is suddenly, who can trace roots back to the Doomsday Book.

youd think people seeing London 2012 would realise UK is a cosmopolitan place.

of course 90% of the medals still seemed to go to rich middle class white boys and girls, but a smattering of immigrants is inevitable, and to be enjoyed.

Well Farah has lived here for over 20 years, went to school here, trained here, brought up here. So that's why we count him.

Hindes is very questionable though, it was only 2 years ago he was competing in events for Germany.

Farah lives and trains in the States doesnt he?
Report Diamond_Joe_Quimby August 14, 2012 7:42 PM BST
Yep, has gone on record as saying his improvement is down to moving to the US
Report Biscuit1979 August 15, 2012 2:16 PM BST
He's 29 and he moved here when he was 8 years old. He only relocated to the States last year.
