Anyone know how we're doing in this event.

Any chance of a medal?

we have one of our guys in about 8th, they ride in reverse order so these are the ones with no chance

when they start the 2nd rotation at about 4.50pm that will be the top 18

I know they're having a few poles down here, but there is some very tidy riding going on out there.

A clear round.

Well done that man!

the horses are much better than 4 years ago, from memory i think they were a mixture of imports from hk and singapore and a few chinese that were one step from the dinner table

The best Olympic event.

LONDON (Reuters) - Imagine a soldier trapped behind enemy lines. He fights his way out with his sword, swims across a lake, grabs the nearest horse, gallops through the forest and makes a last dash for freedom on foot, occasionally firing a pistol to fend off his adversaries.

That, in essence, is modern pentathlon, the brainchild of Baron Pierre de Coubertin, founder of the modern Olympics.

That's right, elise. I felt sorry for the riders last year.

I didn't see the men but the women were having terrible problems.

We've provided some nice horses here.

Still a lot of skill needed to ride a horse round a set of jumps like this.

that horse that just had a few poles and a refusal, darcland is to be ridden by mosieev in the final rotation, he would be one of the favs for gold so interesting to see what he does with it after seeing that

Yes.

I don't understand how a horse can rear up and come crashing over ont its back and then is allowed to continue.

In horse trials if a horse falls it has to retire.

Russian guy was not giving enough with his hands. That horse was very genuine to jump round like that.

A horse can't jump if you keep too tight a hold on it.

Thanks elise.

I don't understand this event, just watch it when it's the showjumping.

Be back tomorrow for the women.

The 3-lap race with the Shooting (run with a Gladiators style Handicap system) is very exciting.
I'd urge those who don't know much about the sport to watch it on Sky 459

Gladiators style race and fantastic watching the frustration during the laser shooting,
as piles of people go past you as you struggle to hit the targets

Sounds a bit like you taking part in a Pop Quiz, Poppy

After the swimming GB's Samantha Murray is in 3rd place and Mhairi Spence is 9th.

Mhairi won Gold and Samantha won Bronze at the World Championships in May.

Looking forward to the showjumping round coming up shortly.

Hoping for another medal here Grin

This was supposed to be on the red button coverage at 2.30.

It now says no coverage today Sad

It should be on BBC1 at 4.00. I don't think it will be live and we probably won't see so much of it.
