Just checked and yes the two discus ones are still from the DDR.

The women's one is just ridiculous.  I thought that the other night when the virtual line was on the field as the women were throwing.  The gold was only 7.5m off the pace this year

Grew up in the 70s watching their dominance in athletics along with the other East Europeans. Just thought at the time they were stronger/fitter than most of our lot.

Mens WRs were set in the 1980's by dopers too: Ben Johnson, Carl Lewis, Butch Reynolds etc. These records have been overtaken by todays athletes.

On the other hand loads of womens WRs from the 80's are miles out of reach by today's athletes.

So is it
(i) Still loads of dopers in mens athletics?
(ii) Mens times are improving due to quicker tracks and women are just plain useless?

It could be the nature of the drugs being used in the past were specifically based around making women more masculine, whereas now PEDs may target more specific aspects of athletic performance, endurance and recovery.

Have already discussed that video. Koch was robbed by the faulty timing devices. Time should be half a second quicker.
