The difference due to genetics is huge. No point denying it, only 1 white person has ever broke 10 secs and 81 black people. This nonsense about opportunities etc, you telling me the american college system hasnt had white sprinters hence why they dont have any in their sprint teams?

Again white people are better swimmers, how many black people won gold in the pool this olympics? And keynans and north africans have the right gene for long distance running.

This sint to say its impossible for a white person to be a top sprinter etc, but it is extremley difficult and wont be many around at any given time.

How it can be viewed as racism is a joke, its science in the small differences in genes, and i think michael jhonson under estimated the importance of genes for specific events.

How many white Jamaican sprinters are there then? The carribean has produced loads of top sprinters not confined to Jamaica.  Sure Jamaica have excelled but if you sent a load of white kids who grew up in the Caribbean and idolised Bolt you aren't going to produce one that can compete, that's a fact

MJ did a program on BBC the other week exploring the theory that Jamaica was the end of the line for the Atlantic slave trade. A program aired on Setanta TV (and repeated often) over the past few weeks, and again on RTE1 (Irish tv) last night about Kenyan runners.  David Rudisha featured.  Eamonn Coughlan visited Kenya, observed the athletes training, and spoke to many past Kenyan runners.  He spoke to Mike Boit (?) about genetics.  Boit said Kenyans are similar to Europeans genetically, and within Kenya their is more genetic differences than typical Kenyan / European.)
The explanation given was that the differences were due to "high expectations".  High expectation produce high performances.  An Olympic final place means nothing to a Kenyan.  Only a gold medal satisfies.

i have heard of this  theory before but not seen the program, do you know what it was called?

Loads of Irish died on ships going to America fleeing the potato famine of 1845.  Why did the survivors not become great sprinters?

From what I can remember from the programme it explained there were several stops after the Atlantic crossing, and Jamaica was the last. The slaves that were sold in Jamaica were higher priced and deemed as class A slaves because they survived the full journey.

After nearly 2 weeks, the Romanians have taken gold, silver, bronze, copper, lead and anything else they can get their flecking hands on.

Of all the arguments you could use to illustrate your point you choose prob the only one that right wingers use that is palpable nonsense. You could have said slavery had been going on on much the same scale within Africa for centuries, you could have said it was mainly run by Muslims, you could have said that Empires were founded in Africa that were practically based on the slave economy (Songhai) but no you used a fact that is proved by numerous documents (ships logs/ledgers, many personal accounts, company records etc etc etc) as your basis. That's the problem with right wing idiots they aren't aware of anybody else's history let alone their own!

A Ugandan (a country that has no history of long distance running) wins the marathon after training with Kenyans for a number of years. Maybe some of the kenyan DNA got in his tea.....
