Watched with the sound down. Thought the Mongolian won the first by a couple of points. Stalker clearly took the second, probably by 3 or 4 points, and won the final round too.

I don't understand the scoring, because every boxing match I've watched I think they chose the wrong winner, especially the Canadian the other day.
I think Stalker absolutely hammered him, but got caught quite a lot over the top. I suppose I can't really judge the points, but Stalker would have won if it was who hit the best...

Its all about landing clean shots with the knuckle area of the hand.
Very different to pro boxing.
The mongolian won the first by way more than 1 point. The 2nd was close. Stalker probably nicked the last but didnt connect cleanly very often and the mongolian landed a couple of pearlers.

ffs Stalker at least show some class in defeat, boxers who clearly won and were robbed acting with more grace than storming out of the ring!
The mongolian won that fight hands down, 1st round he hammered Stalker, 2nd Stalker knicked it, but the 3rd the mongolian won again, he rocked Stalker with 2 huge shots around the 1:30 mark and dominated from then on.
I had him 6 points up, it was nearly (if we hav'nt had enough) home decision, but thankfully the better boxer went through.

Not sure about that. He got out of that ring very quickly, looked like he was seconds away from losing the plot to me.
There has been some disgusting refereeing and judging in this Olympic competition. However not sure this fight was one of them. I agree with some posters above that Stalker may well have lost the fight. Throughout the competition the judges don't seem to favour fighters who throw a lot of punches and miss with plenty. They seem to score fighters who are more conservative with their work and land cleaner scoring shots. This is understandable in a way as it is more difficult to score one scoring punch amongst a cluster of missed shots than a scoring punch thrown in isolation or behind a jab. Stalker was a little ragged and missed with plenty, this was his undoing imo...

Close fight. Surprised one of our fighters was on the wrong end of a close decisions, we've definitely had some generous judges for GB so far!

Morning elise, yes rejected as berto states. Agreed GB can't really argue on the balance of the decisions thus far, neither can Kazakhstan - all I can say is the hospitality must have been very good in Astana last year...
