why is kiprop still fav? can anyone help me? i know hes been good all year but he got beat in kenyan trials and in his heats and hes got an injury

I have a couple of questions for athletics aficionados who know much more than me -
Is Kiplagat not a good price for gold? Second fastest time in the world this year, plus as mentioned above the fav may have an injury. I know he got beat in the semi, and the Algerian guy in the other semi was visually impressive, but weren't both semis run slower than the final will be? Will Kiplagat be better coming off a stronger pace and with possible Kenyan team tactics? The same goes for Chepseba, who could be a good bet for top 3.
This is how it seems to my horribly untrained eye, and will gladly be corrected by more knowledgable forumites!

Kiprop ran a fast time a few weeks ago. Obviously if he's injured at all he's not winning but who knows how bad it is.
Algerian guy is a question mark, some people who follow the sport immediately pointed to doping but as mentioned above the semi was slow and while his final 200/400 time was very fast it was not so incredible due to the slow pace. I think it was the fact he blew by Kiprop so easily which made it look even greater but since the top 5 qualified I don't see the big fuss. The real question is why did he run so hard to the finish? If that was easy for him and he has more in store for the final it is scary. Some think Iguider too looks suspect.

just out of interest, would bets be voided if a winning athlete was subsequently disqualified for failing a drugs test?

At least another country has injured athlete afer GB debacle this morning nearly all fickin injured, well done on laying Fav spider.
I had few quid on winner after your post on here 5.2, cheating git lol!
