who other than gatlin has been suspended?
By:
didnt the beast have a 3month supplement ban or something?
By:
Yeah, apparently it wasnt on the banned list but had the same affect as a drug that was on the banned list, so i cant work out why it wasnt on the list anyway.
By:
Does convicted make you worse than being uncovicted? Be realistic, they're probably all on it
By:
Question mark over Ohuruogu (yes i know she was cleared eventually)still odd tho

They all dope to the eyeballs before the event, no way to catch them.
Then there's whatever undetectable crap the top guys are on. |

hope bolt take,s some of that stuff m phelps got banned for, might give the rest a chance.
By:
The substance Blake took is now on the banned list. I don't think it was then - Wada initially didn't ban him but a three-month suspension was given on appeal.
By:
what was the substance darlo? got a name for it?
By:
Methylhexanamine. The Jamaican anti-doping organisation appealed its own ruling and looks like got the Wada list changed. They said it was similar to tuaminoheptane. All these drug names mean nothing to me mind.

By:
stimulant

By:
It was DMAA the same stuff that is in Oxyelite Pro, the fat burner that some Hull rugby players have been banned for. It's been banned in the USA, Australia, NZ, Canada, but not in the UK.

Ohorugu not a single word mentioned about drugs by the Beeb
![]() Only interested in accusing Algerians imo |
By:
Hans - zzzzz
seriously like a broken record. wiggins is a cheat in your eyes. sad, very very sad that you have such a dour outlook on life/sport |
By:
You think cheats should be allowed to prosper in sport ?
![]() |
By:
again, where did i say that?
you make things up as you go along! |
By:
You think it is fine for Justin Gatlin at the end of his career to have multiple Olympic medals despite twice failing drugs tests?
![]() Or why are you crying at my posts? You dont think this is an important issue or what is your agenda? |
By:
again....! where did i say it was fine justin gatlin wins a bronze?
i think it is very important but unlike you i let people who have not been found guilty prosper without suspicion... you prefer to accuse anyone with talent and believe everyone is taking some drugs. |
By:
i've always found it hard to accept that the guys at the top are clean whilst all about them are at it
in 20 years time or so the samples from london will be re tested, and we may get results but i doubt it some previous olympic samples have been re tested using todays technology and results not published ben johnson and co caught at the time, on drugs, yet no where near todays standard you have to think that the drugs then either didnt work or else strange forces are at work |
By:
There are drug issues in pretty much all the top sports - Athletics, Football, Cycling, Swimming, Cricket, NFL - you name it. BUT, you might as well leave it to the authorities to deal with or give up watching sport altogether. No point in getting wound up about it.
By:
my stance:
get caught taking drugs - then minimum 2 year ban and all previous titles, records etc stripped. i'd give them a second chance as people can be misinformed, mislead (young athletes) but a percentage of their future earnings would go towards the sport and costs of drug testing justin gatlin has been caught twice, i believe, although first was not steroids... if you are caught second time then life time ban. i do think it is hard pill to swallow watching gatlin pick up a bronze ahead of gay who has suffered bad injuries and drugs free but his reputation is tarnished and we all know that cheating happens in every sport... neil back heineken cup final, maradona, premier league every single game... just that in athletics it's down to your own body and not conning officials |
By:
the east germans showed what could be done in the chemistry lab, and the effects can be seen on people today
some of them had no clue what was going on, some footballers have said they have had vitamin jabs, and doubtless didnt know what was in it then we have athletes claiming to have eaten contaminated steaks, ffs i just wish they would re test all samples 20 years after the games and publish results, but we know it wont happen, and we know why |
By:
well the NFL is pretty strict on it... 4 game ban!!
By:
Yeah I agree with Degs that you have to watch and enjoy sport until somebody is proved guilty of taking drugs. Having said that I believe that if caught it should be a lifetime ban. I must admit that it galled me seeing Gatlin pick up a medal last night - he should be nowhere near a Olympic event
By:
i think the authorities know the truth, and fear a full trial if they give a life ban , in which the beans get spilt
By:
although you are prob right, so be it
By:
the puruit of lance armstrong and his team by the us authorities is interesting
if he comes out of a full trial with an un tarnished reputation i will be delighted |

Armstrong doesn't have much of a reputation left to tarnish
By:
It's good to cast aspersions on amazing athletic performances, based on nothing more than suspicion - it makes you look cool and knowledgeable.
When nothing happens, you merely say 'wait for another 20 years' thus sustaining your 'I'm in the know' persona and (doubtless) massive hard-on. |
By:
lol roger.. i agree
regarding lance... innocent until proven guilty. |
By:
although my mate had a "good" theory that US and cycling revealing their greatest cyclist was a cheat would destroy the reputation of cycling forever
By:
cycling has a deserved reputation
a russian failed a test on july 24th and was due to compete in london drug addled |
By:
everyone is innocent until proven guilty
if they have nothing to hide why try to prevent old samples being re tested some athletes use new drugs, not yet banned, so cant be detected, are they as innocent as those on no drugs at all ??? the innocent will always suffer for the sins of the guilty , thats life, and it isnt clever to point it out |
