Very harsh on here but strikes me as an athlete who needs a proper coach to make her believe in her self.

ffs, the abuse on here - disgraceful. For an inexperienced 18-y-o she played brilliantly and deserved a silver.
I find her very frustrating. She has a lot of talent but is mentally as weak as a kitten.

the problem is that our girls are only used to playing 1 or 2 matches every 2 or 3 weeks as they get knocked out so early in tournaments. They just don't have the experience in the latter stages of tournaments, she's never played anything remotely close to that level before
what about 'borrowing' venus or serena for a couple of weeks every 4 years
what about the german that fell off his bike and only does won lap of a three lap race

And not her fault; but why was she picked over the higher ranked Heather Watson? Watson also got the 3rd round of Wimbledon, while Robson was knocked out in the first.

i'm guessing she was picked because her & murray got to the hopman cup final a couple of years ago.
they got to the final today against expectations, were playing world no1 ranked woman & no1 ranked mens doubles player and only just lost so a bit harsh on her.

Bradbury is best known for his memorable and unlikely gold medal win in the men's short track 1000 metres event at the Salt Lake City 2002 Winter Olympic Games, owing to three improbable events.
Bradbury won his heat convincingly in the 1,000 m, posting a time of 1 m 30.956 s. However, it appeared that his run would end when the draw for the quarter-finals was made; Bradbury was allocated to the same race as Apolo Anton Ohno (the favourite from the host nation) and Marc Gagnon of Canada (the defending World Champion), and only the top two finishers from each race would proceed to the semifinals. Bradbury finished third in his race and thought himself to be eliminated; however, Gagnon was disqualified for obstructing another racer, thus allowing the Australian to advance to the semi-finals.
After consulting the national coach Ann Zhang, Bradbury's strategy from the semi-final onwards was to cruise behind his opponents and hope that they crashed, as he realised that he was slower and could not match their raw pace. His reasoning was that risk-taking by the favourites could cause a collision due to a racing incident, and if two skaters (or more) fell, the remaining three would all get medals, and that as he was slower than his opponents, trying to challenge them directly would only increase his own chances of falling.
In his semi-final race, Bradbury was in last place, well off the pace of the medal favourites. However, three of the other competitors in the semi-final—defending champion Kim Dong-Sung of South Korea, multiple Olympic medallist Li Jiajun of China and Mathieu Turcotte of Canada—crashed, paving the way for the Australian to take second place and thus allowing him through to the final.
Bradbury was again well off the pace in the final, and all four of Bradbury's competitors (Ohno, Ahn Hyun-Soo, Li and Turcotte) crashed out at the final corner while jostling for the gold medal. This allowed the Australian, who was around 15 m behind with only 50 m to go, to avoid the pile-up and take the victory. Bradbury raised his arms aloft in complete disbelief and amazement at the unlikely circumstances of his victory. LONDON, Aug 5 (Reuters) - Italian heavyweight Clemente Russo was booed on Sunday after reducing his Olympic quarter-final against Cuba's Jose Larduet Gomez into a holding farce in the third round.
The first two rounds were entertaining enough but a packed crowd at the ExCel arena then began chanting 'Cuba, Cuba' as Russo looked like he should have been taking part in one of the wrestling bouts that are also being held at the east London venue.
The Italian, employing a flashy hands-down style, picked off Larduet in the opening two rounds to open a 9-7 lead before resulting to questionable tactics in the third.
Right or wrong it worked as the final round was scored 3-3 to give Russo a 12-10 win, putting him in the semi-finals and guaranteeing at least a bronze medal.
"They booed because it was an ugly fight. I don't think they booed me personally," Russo told reporters through an interpreter.
"I had the experience to win the fight. There were very few shots and I tried to make the referee think that it wasn't just me holding and I managed it - it worked."
Russo, the 2007 world champion, was giving away a considerable height advantage and kept darting in to land his punches before holding to avoid a counter.
Rule 12.1.9 of the International Boxing Association rules says 'Holding or locking of the opponent's arm or head, or pushing an arm underneath the arm of an opponent' is a foul.
Slovakian referee Rene Just chose not to split the duo on the frequent occasions they became entangled, infuriating Larduet's cornermen.
Perhaps Just was thinking of German counterpart Frank Scharmach who was suspended for five days on Thursday for being too quick in disqualifying a fighter for persistent holding.
"I agree it wasn't a great show. I think only Clemente had the clean hits, his opponent didn't really have any clean shots and he deserved the win in the end," said a member of Russo's corner.
The tactics also angered the 22-year-old Larduet.
