Is holding these people permanently in a big detention camp the ONLY sane response?
God only knows why anyone would put personal vanity miles ahead of athletic performance, let alone in the Olympics. Wouldn't any normal responsible athlete want to carrying the least possible number of appendages, rather than loading themselves up with encumbrances?

It's crazy.
Any serious competitor would ensure they're as lean as possible. I used to even cut my nails before a race.
You have to wonder about their commitment when you see this surplus baggage.
