Firstly I resent his arrogant attitude which causes disharmony in the team camp and secondly I don't like his lack of Englishness (and that has nothing to do with his roots) exemplified by his ridiculous appearance and self centred approach.

I'd rather we didn't enter a competitor than allow the arrogant Idowu to effectively stick two fingers up at the GB team management and the public who have had no option but to pay for his funding.You could argue that the Manager should have dropped him from the team for not proving his fitness however by allowing him to 'compete' if that is the right word he's been given rope to hang himself.I doubt he'll ever be given the chance to wear a GB vest again.

I don't know whether or not that is true however i'm sure the lottery isn't the only funding scheme.You seem a sensible bloke so surely you don't believe he's self funding .

If he said he hasn't had funding for 3 years  what has he done with it give it to charity he will be saying he buys his own trainers next

He'll get some help from somewhere but his sponsorship deals will contribute a lot which are largely earned off his own back

My boss just told me  a lot of stories of what he's been up to are gonna hit the fan and as for funding he's received way in excess of a million up to yet and he still receives 75000 a year from lottery and god knows what else from other funding sources

Thanks for researching that Fela......If Idowu publicly denied receiving funding he'll be crucified.

According to the UK Sport website though there award is deducted if they earn money from sponsorship and prize money and is set at a threshold level. I don't understand enough to fully comment.
