By:

By:
Is it true that Jess is the national high jump record holder? Amazing given the fact she isn't very tall.
By:
1.95 metres, joint highest
By:
chernova 2 fails at 1.83

2 fails 1.89 but no one else clear as yet
By:
If Jess get 1.89 its huge!
By:
Brilliant!!! Johnson-Thompson lifetime best clears 1.89
By:
that's bad
By:
Johnson-Thompson looks about 12 - I must be getting old
By:
fountain leads the outright by 13 points surprisingly
By:
If she (Johnson-Thompson) trains with Liverpool Harriers, that's literally at the end of my road. Will have to pop down and watch...

By:
Ennis 1st
Johnson-Thompson 3rd after 2 events |
By:
that's a relief, the olympic site had ennis 2nd, jt 8th
By:
1.33 to lay now, that should shorten after the 200m
and then should drift after the long jump and javelin... prob evens going into 800m |
By:
evens, are u serious?
that my tactic all the same tho i dont think that high |
By:
all set up for sth special from both Brits here - sub 23 secs for Ennis very possible
By:
Fantastic run
By:
got a lovely chunk done at 1.25 ave, gonna keep going, bound to drift especially after the javelin
By:
she might drift after two no jumps in the long jump!
By:
Michael Johnson 'concerned'
he knows... ![]() |
By:
Could easily be 1.01 after the javelin imo. Obviously she could blow it completely in the javelin but i don't really see a trading opportunity. You either lay her or back her. it's highly likely to be more or less decided before the 800m
By:
have laid 1.25
1.1 she will be bigger than that after the long jump |
By:
I've been giving this my very great attention and after long deliberation my informed opinion is, if she doesn't win the gold medal tommorow its long odds on the members of the forum will be refering to her as Jessica in 24 hours time
and if she fails even to make a rostrum she'll have the ignamany of being referred to as Ennis, trust me the safest bet of the games. |
By:
you think 4s on Ennis is the bet of the Games?
bollox |
By:
rick, care to hazzard a guess at prices after long jump, then after javelin. thanks
By:
well mate you have to workout the probable range of scenarios:-
Take the long jump first. Ennis is capable of doing anything from a PB to abject failure. A PB would make her price shorten into 1.12 ish (only allowing slight opportunity for a phuck up in the jav). A bad showing in long jump (combined with good efforts from rivals who are better jumpers anyway) will see the gap close and then Ennis could be 1.5 I suspect she will do a 'competent' long jump, similar to her shot and high jump and trade around 1.35 Now, the price range post javelin will be free 1.05 to 1.85 depending on how she throws remember she lost the World Champs due to a bad javelin also remember Chernova has a much faster 800m PB if I remember correctly so Ennis will need a lead going into the last what's your reasoning? |
By:
yeah cant see a pb in long jump jumping off the other leg.
hopin she makes a mess of it tbh. javelin is worse so i think its a great value trade, v small downside |
By:
yeah that was my thinking too
By:
laid at 1.23 - a lot can happen here. anyone know what time the 5th event starts?
