Good to see the sailing for a change, used to get 5 mins on the highlights show. The Dane looks the business.
Report DonNo1 July 30, 2012 4:42 PM BST
Ainslie really struggling now
Report DonNo1 July 30, 2012 4:54 PM BST
Bad day, can disregard the 12th but can't afford another poor placing
Report DonNo1 July 31, 2012 1:47 PM BST
Constantly chasing every race, slipping away from Ainslie
Report alun2005 July 31, 2012 1:51 PM BST
What's stopped this Ainslie era of Olympic domination Don?    Is it bad weather, better sailors  or mistakes?
Report Forest000 July 31, 2012 1:54 PM BST
I am in the positio where, after a massive messe up bet (had ainslee bet open playing with odds, opened new page to make a seperate bet on another sport and it submitted both), that i hope he loses :/
Report DonNo1 July 31, 2012 2:00 PM BST
Bit of all 3. Conditions not ideal, the Dane is sailing a blinder and Ainslie has started to force it as a result
Report mafeking July 31, 2012 2:03 PM BST
know nothing about sailing but you'd think knowledge of home conditions prevailing winds etc would be massive in this sport
Report treble July 31, 2012 2:51 PM BST
Ainslie is Hogh's bitch Laugh
Report DonNo1 July 31, 2012 2:59 PM BST
Can still recover, double points in last race
Report DonNo1 August 2, 2012 12:25 PM BST
Ainslie leading and Dane just capsized Grin
Report red and white August 2, 2012 12:56 PM BST
Fascinating race I suspect with Ainslie ahead of the Dane for the first time except the BBC have shown the 470 tailenders then the crowd on the shore then 470 highlights then the crowd again. What a **** up.
Report DonNo1 August 2, 2012 1:01 PM BST
There's 24 channels, of which only about 10 are in use atm, surely we can get 2 different sailing ones on

Ainslie won though and Hogh 8th which opens things up a bit
Report Forest000 August 2, 2012 1:26 PM BST
ainslie went ahead in the betting slightly, I am tempted to lay him now
Report DonNo1 August 2, 2012 2:52 PM BST
Gap down to 3, top effort after getting a penalty.  If he can get 2 points back tomorrow then it's a shootout on Sunday
Report treble August 2, 2012 3:53 PM BST
Is the star pretty much wrapped up would you say?
Report DonNo1 August 2, 2012 3:57 PM BST
Looking very good but there is an 11th on the card which is currently discarded, if they had a bad race tomorrow then it could knock us back a bit.  And then the medal race is double points so not all over
Report DonNo1 August 3, 2012 12:05 PM BST
Here we go.  Ainslie fuming last night, sounds like the Danish sailor may have bull****
Report DonNo1 August 3, 2012 1:14 PM BST
Ainslie 4 back now but salvaged hopes on that last leg
Report DonNo1 August 3, 2012 3:11 PM BST
What a sail that was, all down to the medal race now, should be a great battle
Report Leven August 3, 2012 4:11 PM BST
Yea amazing skills. We know Ainslie can finish these, Dane under pressure
Report peter64 August 3, 2012 9:03 PM BST
does ben just need to beat him to win? tia
Report mb987 August 3, 2012 9:05 PM BST
Yes
Report DonNo1 August 3, 2012 9:05 PM BST
Yep, assuming they don't come near the back and the Dutch guy wins
Report peter64 August 3, 2012 9:25 PM BST
thanks guys
Report DonNo1 August 5, 2012 1:54 PM BST
Here we go
Report 1830 August 5, 2012 2:00 PM BST
How long will the race last lads, gonna watch the Tennis and flick over near finish.
Report frames August 5, 2012 2:03 PM BST
The Dane has beaten him 7 out of 10 so far ,fair play to him if he manages to win.
Report frames August 5, 2012 2:06 PM BST
Looking good so far but so did the Star class.
Report wykhamist2 August 5, 2012 2:07 PM BST
The British commentators seem so blinkered to assume GB are always going to win.

Knowing our luck Ben will hit an iceberg and sink.
Report 1830 August 5, 2012 2:09 PM BST
Thought all the Icebergs had melted nowdays.
Report DonNo1 August 5, 2012 2:10 PM BST
Yeh wykhamist, I like the comms but they're hugely biased
Report wykhamist2 August 5, 2012 2:10 PM BST
Well maybe an unexploded WW2 mine then
Report BARNEY15C August 5, 2012 2:14 PM BST
Yep the great dane laid a couple last night
Report DonNo1 August 5, 2012 2:15 PM BST
Close but should be able to shut him out from here
Report frames August 5, 2012 2:18 PM BST
Why go for the head to head when earlier he was well ahead of the Dane ?
Report wykhamist2 August 5, 2012 2:20 PM BST
I don't like the way this is going much now. The Dane is catching up.
Report BARNEY15C August 5, 2012 2:23 PM BST
On a lighter note, there are some cracking birds in this sailing, BBC Shirley Robinson in particular Love
Report frames August 5, 2012 2:23 PM BST
Fascinating tactics ,I think I'm starting to understand it.
Report judorick August 5, 2012 2:26 PM BST
I have not got a clue what is going on

err? Confused
Report wykhamist2 August 5, 2012 2:28 PM BST
phew Ben tacked ahead of the Dane so will round the mark first.
Report wykhamist2 August 5, 2012 2:30 PM BST
Uh oh watch the Dutch
Report DonNo1 August 5, 2012 2:34 PM BST
BOOOOOM
Report wykhamist2 August 5, 2012 2:34 PM BST
Great stuff! Well done Ben.

Hans Cristian Andersen, Little Mermaid, Danish Bacon, Michael Laudrup, Peter Schmeicel, your boy took a hell of a beating!!!!!!
Report wykhamist2 August 5, 2012 2:36 PM BST
I think the Dane is sailing straight back to Denmark
Report DonNo1 August 5, 2012 2:36 PM BST
Superb effort to claw it back after the first few races

Report judorick August 5, 2012 2:40 PM BST
phew
Report Glossy August 5, 2012 2:41 PM BST
Sheer will to win got him though that. Hell of a performance.

Well done Ben.
Report BARNEY15C August 5, 2012 2:42 PM BST
Medal Ceremony will be interesting Devil quiet satisfaction and immense smugness for ainsley
Report duncan idaho August 5, 2012 2:49 PM BST
hardly did it in style....ninth in final race....got lucky, Dutch guy  v close to taking 2nd before last buoy
Report DonNo1 August 5, 2012 2:54 PM BST
9th because he was occupied with the Danish and they had an unfavourable wind shift, maximises his chances to win
Report duncan idaho August 5, 2012 2:55 PM BST
preoccupied with the Dane, i'd say....the 2 lads earlier made the same mistake and paid dearly
Report Far From Trouble August 5, 2012 2:56 PM BST
Big Ben Cool
Report DonNo1 August 5, 2012 3:01 PM BST
Postma was never 2nd at a mark, he could have changed his tactics if he was sailing away with it, it was essential to cover the Dane
Report red and white August 5, 2012 3:09 PM BST
Well done Ben. Also congrats to the Swedes in the star. Percy and Simpson did a great job spoiling the Brazilian but were a bit thick with the maths.
Report alun2005 August 5, 2012 3:32 PM BST
Incredible comeback by Ainslie.

What was his highest price to win the Gold?
Report DonNo1 August 5, 2012 3:34 PM BST
He went 3.0 for hundreds and maybe a bit higher, Dane hit 1.2/3
Report moisok August 5, 2012 3:37 PM BST
lovely to see my old stamping ground
poole and weymouth are really good places to visit etc  always been a big favourite of mine
and superb places to sail
inside the breakwater is excellent at portland on the safety side of things
but dont go to the RACES outside on the point!!! - portland bill!!!!
been through it a few times - rather exciting!!!

but do visit the area
Report DonNo1 August 5, 2012 3:39 PM BST
Pretty much the only mistake the Dane made was capsizing, even when he had penalty turns in one of the early races he still won easily.  Ainslie's experience won him it, the Dane should have been the one shutting Ainslie out in the final few races but it was Ainslie doing it to him
Report alun2005 August 5, 2012 3:47 PM BST
Cheers Don mate.

Ugly scenes at Wimbledon meanwhile.
Report DonNo1 August 5, 2012 3:49 PM BST
Where's the rain and the roof Sad
Report alun2005 August 5, 2012 3:55 PM BST
Match will be all over by the time it arrives
