making sure he didn't get DQ'd at the start , could have broke the WR if he predicted the gun correctly , however , one false start and ur out

Only a guess mind.

he could have shaved what? 6 ticks off that time if he'd predicted the gun , but the new rule is ONE false start and ur OUT , so he didn't want to take the risk i guess
By:
nicky27
When: 05 Aug 12 22:12
6 ticks off 9.63 would have been the WR
By:

200 wr to go 3-1

has to be worth it seeing that

nice call on the 1.63 judorick.

Was a lot closer than i'd have liked having lumped 2k (a big un for me) at 1.5. Beers tasted good tonight. Had begun to doubt myself but let my logical head rule. I don't see 1.58 being beaten for a long time.

nice bet brother

but I do think Bolt will smash the record this summer, on a hot night somewhere in Europe, on a fast track where he won't be bothered about false starting... he will storm out of the blocks and do it

who is that with?

I expect 2 of them to beat it!!

@dc you dont see 1.58 being beaten for a long time? Confused

Will be gone with 12months imvho

Bolt is literally the only one who can even dream of doing it and he peaked in 2009 imo. Would you back even money WR to go within 12 months?
By:
judorick
When: 06 Aug 12 11:15
will go this summer

he had the slowest reaction time in the final (to be sure not to false start) and the temperature was 17 C

when he anticipates the gun on a hot evening he will find the 0.07s he needs... easily

WR this summer, mark miwordz

Nope dont see it going post Olympics but I see your logic, just dont see the outcome you anticipate.

Zazu, it was on here last night after 100 final

I took 5's on fri when it was clear the track was quick

Blake ran 19.25 on a bad night in belgium so i expect him to push bolt all the way
By:
judorick
When: 06 Aug 12 12:22
listen he will be on for £100K bonuses for breaking the WR

he is clearly in shape as 9.63 says and the conditions were far from ideal

hot night, following wind, fast start and maximum effort = SMASH the WR

he has probably already planned the 2 or 3 meets where he will have a go at it

only needs drop 0.06 from his Olympic final time - he can do that with a better start (reaction time)

1.1 a new WR this summer, mark miwordz

DC was spot on with his great analysis last night.

'With fear of false starts greater than ever, none of the favs will risk "beating the gun".
Even if they do cut it fine, a "blistering start" shaves at the very most 0.03 off your time. That's about a foot.
I'm not saying the record is unachievable. But the price is crazy wrong.'

Bolt admitted he could not afford to take a risk.  Would have been very close to a WR if he did.

Well done DC look forward to further analysis.
