Its only the last Olympics that counts.  Its a bit like Liverpool claiming bragging rights over Chelsea because they've finished ahead of them for 30+ of the last 40 years.

this CWG is a big deal for England...2 year out from London 2012, to be so far behide Australia is a worry....it differnt if it was small margin like 5 golds but it more then double the golds...it a number game

None of the 5 World medallist or finalists at the 2009 Gymnastics Championships, none of the 7 gold medallists from the Cycling in Beijing Olympics.  Basically all the elite athletes in those sports (I believe its the whole first team squad in both those sports) but it maybe only those that they feel are potential world medallists.  Australia won 0 Olympic Cycling Gold Medals and had only 2 finalists in the world gymnastics championships yet in those 2 sports alone at the CWG here Australia has won 21 gold medals and England only 4.  8 of the 11 World Athletics Championships medallists from 2009 (the 3 that did turn up were the bit part players in the relay) plus competitive GL performers Jemma Simpson, Michael Rimmer and Mo Farah.

Track cycling...1st .Australia very srtong at track cycling, has been very strong for 20 years in Cycling...Australia didn't win any good at 2008 Olympics but did win 6 golds in Cycling at 2004 Olympic...at the last 2  world track cycling champsihip, Aussie has beat GB in the medal count..2nd..all courties lose there best rider (non-track sprinters) to road tour teams (Tour de france) the fact is ,olympic track gold medal isn't hold that high by cycling , this is why track events like individual pursuit, points race and Madison will no long be at Olympic games in 2012 ...any way Shane Perkins (Aust)) has
been beating both Chris Hoy and Jason Kenny, who to say thay would have won..plus you had David Millar,Mark Cavendish and Olympic Gold Nicole Cooke riding in the raod race

Don't know much about Gymnastics, but looking at your 2009 Gymnastics Championships you talk about..Australia won 3 medels to GB 2 medals :)..

Good posts CLYDEBANK most of our team haven't turned up unlike the convicts and the reason they didn't do well at the track cycling at the Olympic is because their drug factory at the AIS was shut down.
