Yes hypocrisy of the highest order

The newspaper has tried to address its past, with associate editor and columnist Martin Kettle trying to explain it in 2011.

He claimed: “The Guardian's stance on the US civil war was of its era.

“The issue that caused the problem for the Guardian was not slavery. The Guardian had always hated slavery. But it doubted the Union hated slavery to the same degree.”

His piece suggests some things should not be judged by today’s (double) standards.

oh,i like some of the guardian,it is one of the few that isn't in the pocket.

Is " The Express" any good?

On the Irish goverment talks,

"Irish PM removed in coalition deal after years of Brexit meddling".

I hope that kinda thing isn't an option,i know it appeals to a certain section but is a cause of current day diversty.

"The Guardian's stance on the US civil war was of its era."

As opposed to everyone the Guardianistas are vilifying who regardless of actual time period are of this Era?

Aye, they must think Cecil Rhodes et al are still at it.

You've got to hand it to the Guardian, its readership are the sort of people who go balistic about off shore tax dodging and lose it at the two words "rees-mogg" or "hedge fund", when Guardian Media Group is run through a tax exempt shell company Offshore Tax Shelter in the Cayman Islands.

I'd have a lot more respect for ye if you lot could admit it took a black man in Mr Rashford to shame the tory goverment in giving food to children in this difficult time for many.
I hope the guardian tells the truth, shamed into it.

Today must be "I've absolutely no defence for this so will try a totally irrelevant diversion that nobody will fall for" day at left wing HQ.
Report lapsy pa June 16, 2020 10:32 PM BST

Given the amazing sight of the activist (and someone who is apparently leader on a police board) this week who thought CHURCHILL WAS STILL ALIVE, I wonder how many Grauniad readers, if asked with no help, would automatically assume that it was the Democrats who freed the slaves, and not the Republicans?

60%?

The Guardian's a parody of itself these days.

some of the 1st time/young tory mp,s in their 80 seat majority must be rather confused about how the government works as starmer at pmq,s and a 22 yr old football set government policy every week,to cut the middleman out and save time ,maybe the 2 front benches should switch benches
wonder what free money will be given away this week

The Telegraph is on about New Zealands lockdown being unsuccessful and attacking their strategy,
I thought the Kiwis and their left PM were doing a good job?
The Express and The Telegraph ruled out for me with those rubbish claims, the Daily mail just seems to say it is going to be the snowiest winter since records began every year.
Is there any good papers (not that you need them)

The only reason more of your lot know that more is because every free thinker throws it in there to fool dummies like you who think it is relevant to the present day

The guardian are deep finacial trouble openly asking for donations, their problem is they have no appeal to the young and an ageing readership. Just basic maths every year brings in a little less, they will be gone in the next 5 year
Report Injera June 17, 2020 4:26 PM BST
Not entirely unrelated, this just in from PC Plod, avid reader of the Guardian. Try not to laugh, these are serious times..
