Free University.

Not for thousands of Scots who are forced to go to England because of the capping system imposed by the SNP.

There is no such thing as "free" there is taxpayer funded things at no cost to the recipient. THis is a political choice and that money is then taken away other things that may be more deserving.

The Scottish prescription system subsidises people who can afford it, whereas for people on limited income etc in England it's free anyway.

The Scottish uni system is ****ed now as it they had a fixed cap (as aka says) on students as they had to fund them, unlike England, which meant people who got the right grade couldn't go to Uni. The English system has no such cap and has a better track record of poor kids getting into uni. The Scottish system largely relied on non EU students coming and paying large fees to fund things, and Corona will now cause a catastrophic shortfall.

(The idea that 50% of people should go to uni to do freakin worthless degrees is stupid in the first place but I digress.. 4 years to get a Peace a nd Gender Studies "degree" at taxpayer expense..).
